I financed a Benz in June for 5.89% from Bank of America. The rate is now 6.49% for a new car. Note that this was before the rosy jobs report came out last week, which should cause further interest rate rise. You should start thinking of 30 yr highs if you're thinking we're catching a break!

How long are people waiting for X7 40i allocations right now? I don’t see many new X7 in stock (for sale) on my dealer’s lot so everyone must be ordering them via new allocations and they come in pre-sold.

I don’t want an M60i, just a regular 40i so I figured that an allocation would be more available.

Also, what are people seeing as a discount off MSRP on an ordered X7 40i at the present time? Edmunds.com is showing about $2,200 off (just over 2% off MSRP).

7-8% discount from msrp pre-incentive at base money factor is possible via brokers. Took 1 month from order to delivery for me two/three months ago.

Base MF sucks right now but is at least slightly lower than the lowest BMW finance rate.

Rates are decent compared to your Mercedes GLS this month.

BMW = 5.29% Base APR on Purchase/0.00210 (5.04%) on Leases plus $1000 for Loyalty

Mercedes = 7.09% Purchase APR/0.00290 (6.96%) on Leases

Audi is giving away Q7's this month-Bundles of Lease Cash on these

That’s why I came in with my own financing. Even my MB SA admitted their rates were trash. 5.89% seems so long ago now but it’s been only 4 months!

I was spamming several dealers (tri-state) since May, only getting a few points off msrp.
Recently placed an order after I got 8% off (cash deal) on a new order build.

A lot can happen in 3 months (when those quotes were made)!
Could you please PM the dealer you used? Thanks!

I'm in the market for a X7 40i. Visited a dealer in Charlotte, NC today to test drive. They have decent inventory but I'm really leaning towards ordering new. Sounds like they have some allocations. No real offer to discount MSRP but I didn't push as this was my initial visit.

From reading this thread it sounds like there is usually some wiggle room to get a discount off MSRP for a new build order. Should I just start reaching out to all the dealers in the surrounding area to get quotes and see who can compete? Or would it be more efficient/effective to hire a broker?

Thanks in advance!

I’ve never worked with a broker so can’t tell what is better.

What I’d definitely do is build one online and share the build code with many dealers around to get the best price. Keep in mind the build code is “live” so if you make any change it will show on the dealer’s end.

I’m getting a 9.7% off MSRP on a build in Florida (thanks to user possib1edoc). Someone in CA reported here he got 10.5% off a vehicle on the lot.

Thanks for the advice! Will definitely start shopping around. The dealer I went to was telling me it was about 12 weeks to get a new build right now. Which tells me they really wanted me to buy one off their lot (everything I read seems to say 4-5 weeks).

They’re not that far from reality. I ordered Sep. 27th and if everything goes well I’m expecting to get the vehicle the third or fourth week of November.
