Hey Reese, sorry to hear about the delay. It sucks when you've been waiting in anticipation and get that news. The misinformation from bmw is crazy. I can't understand how such a huge company selling luxury cars and a luxury experience ,can mess up this much, especially on preorders.

That’s great that you are back on schedule to your original production week.

My X7 has finished assembly. It says production will be complete on February 12.

Also, I picked up two sets of travel and comfort accessories for our x5. The fold down table with cup holder and the iPad holder rig. Both pricey but pretty nice. Can be picked up for about 22% off retail or so and can be used in X7 as well
True!
Ya bmwpartspro is really good. Good to know those accessories are both universal to the x5 and x7

and awesome service from those guys.

my only beef with the iPad things are they do extend out a bit from the seat, rather than sitting as flush as the factory set ups. but that's a small price to pay for the flexibility to take them on, off as needed or wanted.

the only thing i haven't figure out yet is if the old headrest attachment, called the base carrier (part 51952183852 ), will attach to the second row's captains chair headrest so that a passenger in the third row can use travel and comfort accessories. will sort that out in time i guess.

Thanks! I just kept checking boxes! I can’t wait to see it. Will I get notifications as it moves to thru the process or do I have to keep checking?

Thanks

Jan

Unfortunately you'll have to keep checking. No notifications that I know of. This will be my 3rd bmw that I built and typically I've never seen the process go through each individual step either(can't speak for others, just my experience). I'll often call the genius line to get the most current status. Online tracker system doesn't update as rapidly as production process it seems.

Nice, right on schedule. Let us know if you see the process update through each step on the online tracker and especially let us know when that thing is done.

It went from production scheduled to assembly in 1 day. I did not see the incremental steps of body assembly and paint.

That's awesome news! It's great to hear that people's cars are actually being completed. We're all getting a little closer to being some of the first X7 owners in the world.

X7's being delivered to dealers Already. A Charlotte and Louisville dealership are posting proud pics of the new delivery's today. Looks like Pennsylvania's got one too

Thanks for posting this. That means that our X7’s won’t be held at the factory until March. They should be shipped to our dealerships when they finish production.

They could be demo cars not for sale. our local dealer got a few X5s that they could show people and provide test drives, but they were not for sale. In any case we are getting closer to deliveries!

my obsessive #x7 searching on instagram is reaping huge rewards over the last 6 hours. tons of pics coming online as orders and demos hit lots. nice to see the inventory pumping in.

this one caught my eye: have yet to see the 21" 752 black rims on a vehicle yet, and these appear to be those although they look more orbit-grey than black. maybe a powder job by the dealer? looks good, gonna consider these for my carbon black winter setup

My local dealer did say they were not allowed to sell the pre-orders until March 1 - even though they are apparently being shipped. Anyone else hear anything different?
