Rooftop cargo recs?

Anyone have a rooftop cargo carrier that you would recommend? Going on an extended trip with a family of four and a dog.

I have a Thule Motion XT, which looks great with my shadowline trim, functions well, and has a good build quality like most of their stuff.

The crossbars are up for more debate. I have the OEM bars, which are one of the cheaper options, but I'm not much of a fan. They're a bit loud without something mounted to them, and I don't think the end mount bars look as good on the X7 as they would on other cars. Basically, they're just not something I would drive around carrying without the box where I might do so with other bars or on a different car.

Thanks. What size Motion do you have? Looking at the XXL and wondering if it is too big. Thanks

I have the XXL, no issues. It's possible it's just a tad forward of dead center/ the ideal mounting location in order for it not to interfere with the tail gate opening all the way, but it's certainly adjustable enough that I didn't think twice about it.

I'm interested in the size of your Motion XT as well. I want to get the XXL which I think is the biggest, but I'm a litten concerned that it might interfere with the satellite thing in the back, and might affect the front view.

I haven't had any issues on either end, but only made a few trips to local ski resorts. It sat over the antenna, but I exclusively listen to satellite radio and didn't notice any more cutouts than normal. On the front, I might have gotten a little of a shadow facing the right direction, but it wasn't hanging over the windshield/obstructing view by any means.

Here's a good video of it mounted on an X7, I think I watched the same one before I pulled the trigger.

OEM crossbars for me and a Thule XL cargo box. Holds 6 large nylon duffel bags, plenty of capacity without being overwhelming.

Yakima Railbar. Very sleek, no noise, doesn't impact the moonroof. Highly recommend.

On my '20 X7 we have RailBar XL. I assume it's the same.
