Plus, even in Florida, the dark brown should be far less prone to cooking in the sun like black does.
This is why I went with Tartufo over ivory this time. I am sure it will look new for years with just basic leather treatments.

I posted this last month: Tartufo is very close to classic Coach brown.

I'm not a mr. fix it type guy, so I don't know what you can do with those. So I can take these grey suck wheels and have them coated to have the bright silver finish similar to the B7 wheels? That would look sweet with the chrome.
Yep. I did that with my last vehicle...cost is about $1000 so not bad to get what you want.

Has anyone gotten their XB7 in? Dying to see a real review of it.

Back in may I decided I wanted one since it was time for my GLS63 to go away. Because of the wait I bought a super hard loaded X7 M50i. Last month a Houston dealer had a XB7 with everything but the bowers & wilkins that I wouldn’t have ordered anyway. Had it in the M50i and gang I think the HK is just as good.
Now about the XB7! Anyone hate turning off the start/stop BS every single time? XB7 don’t have it, that’s almost worth the price difference alone! You notice upon startup that it is way quieter than the M50i but it is a much smoother sound. Before you get going good you notice the night and day difference the four corner air bags makes. About the time you notice the ride difference you feel the just as bid a difference in the transmission. And as soon as you stop your on to another wow moment. All this before you even feel the power! On paper the @80hp difference don’t sound like enough to make you want to pony up the difference from a M50i but within 1 mile I was sold and still had not felt the power difference. But gang it is there. I knew my M50i very well and the XB7 feels like a totally different animal not just an expensive upgrade.

I'm desperately waiting to hear your feedback on the XB7. If I go with this, my wife will do the 580. Unless she just can't do it in which case she'll do the m50i which I think is super lame if we both get basically the same car, lol.

I check daily for an XB7 video to watch and get convinced, and there is still nothing.
Sir I have bad news for you. If you buy an XB7 and you let your wife just ride in it much less drive it you will have to decide what your gonna do because your wife will be driving what you thought was your XB7. I get my wife a new car about every 6 months. She has had a M50i since may so we knew the car extremely well. A short test drive in the XB7 changed that quickly. In the last 3 years she had a X5 5.0, a X5M, a MB GLS550 and a GLS63. The car and driver crew that compared it to the GLS63 and declared the XB7 the winner were absolutely 100% correct.

Well, I bought the XB7! It'll be coming in Feb-ish. Wife got GLS 580. I'm excited about it. It isn't perfect but it's the best available option I think at this point.

Delivered at last

Littlejoe, Saw that you just received your xb7. I received mine last week. Tanzanite blue 2, blue/white interior. Very happy so far. Not everyone’s preference but I chose the 21” wheels. I liked them with the darker blue color combo. Although got winter wheel & tire package put on for next couple of months given the crazy snow here in the NE. To those who question the xb7, it’s a personal choice, but as anyone who drives it will know, it just works...

Congratulations, and Tanzanite Blue just works with the XB7. BTW, I ordered a few weeks ago and it likely will not arrive before late April or May.

Post some pics.

Thanks for the pics Caruser1, I still like the 21" wheels. They go well with the chrome trim and Tanzanite Blue. You'll have to post a personal review after some time behind the wheel.

Hi guys, new to this forum. I’ve had the previous gls 63 and my wife currently has the GLE 63. I have the Escalade v currently, but thinking about getting the xb7. I love the Escalade but it’s really not worth the price. I had the x5 as a rental and really liked it. It got me thinking about bmw more. I was between the x5m and the xb7 and gls 63. I was wondering how you liked the alpina? I like the gls but I feel it’s to similar to the GLE. Do you have regrets not getting the gls? Also, is the handling similar to the amg in the alpina ? This is my first bmw. Wasn’t sure if I would notice the handling in the alpina vs the regular x7s. Also how’s the exhaust tone ? Unfortunately I haven’t been able to see one yet. They are on order for customers.

Hey, I have a 2018 GLS63 and a 2023 m60i. I used to have a 2020 X7 M50i as well. While I haven't driven the XB7, I have to say that I prefer the x7 M60i over the GLS63 any day of the week. The X7 is slightly smaller though. The GLS63 is more of a track focused 7 seat suv but the X7 is more of a GT car. The GLS is made for silverstone or COTA or Nurburgring but the X7 is made for cannonball runs and driving for 12 hours straight with kids in the back. When it comes to exhausts, it goes from GLS63, X7 M60i, and X7 M50i (from louder to softer). The BMWs use fake engine noises however. The 2023 X7 handles way better than the 2018 GLS since it has the 4 wheel steering but the 2020 X7 is more similar. I believe the alpina has the 4 wheel steering as well.

Thanks for the feedback. I also had the 2018 gls 63. The 4 wheel steering is a big perk of the bmw for sure. Drove a couple of suvs that had it and you really felt the difference. That’s one of the very annoying things is the Escalade doesn’t. I thought the v would. I feel like the xb7 should compare to the gls 63 ( 2021-2023 ). I would love to hear from someone who has the xb7 to see if this is true.

I guess what I’m trying to figure out is , Would the xb7 be comparable to a gls 63? I love amgs and of course there is no x7m. I don’t want the gls since the wife has the GLE. I was possibly debating on the x5m but could use the extra room of the xb7. I still want all the comfort of the x7, as well but the better handling, performance and exhaust.

XB7 does have 4 wheel steering and in Sport Plus with the transmission in Sport it sounds incredible. Well insulated so you hear it but it’s not deafening. From the outside you can tell it’s a step up from M50i/M60i and it’s got a custom full stainless exhaust. Couldn’t find it for the 2023 but here’s the Alpina specific parts for the pre-LCI model: https://www.alpina-automobiles.com/f...7_Englisch.pdf

I can’t comment though on difference though between XB7 and GLS 63. Not a huge MB fan so never looked at one or comparison shopped.

I will think so since the m50i/m60i is already way better than the 2018 GLS63 imo. The XB7 is better than the m60i in every way supposedly. Also, slightly off topic but how many miles do you get out of your GLS63 brakes? I only have 25k miles and already on my 3rd set of brakes. Meanwhile I never had to change the brakes on the X7 M50i with similar miles.

I don’t completely remember how many miles I got but I always got annoyed because I felt like I was constantly changing the brakes. So not many.

Thanks. I just feel the gls isn’t that special. I think it’s amazing in the GLE form , but the x7 seems more high end

My GLS 63 needed rear brakes and rotors replaced every 9K or so miles and the front at every 10-11K miles. Cost to replace all was around $2400-$2500 but that was over a year ago and it might be more expensive now. And they start squeaking around 3K or so miles before needing to be replaced which was very annoying but that alone wouldn't keep me away from buying another one. I am at almost 22K miles on my XB7 and I believe the brakes can easily get me through another 10-12K miles. Even if I have to replace them at 30K that would still be 1 brake replacement VS 3 on the GLS. My GLS 63 was a 2018 MY though and I am not sure if the 2022-2023 model uses the same brakes.

My overall experience goes like this:

GLS 63 - I like it. I like it a lot actually.
XB7 - I love it.

Yup seems like how my brakes were.

So I just put in an order for the 60. The xb7 is sold out at my dealer for 23. I’ll have the first for 24 which is fine. I’ll trade the 60 in for it. I’m excited to try bmw out since this is my first ( Bessie’s a rental )

You can have them powdercoated any color you want and the finish will be more durable then the stock finish. I'm sure the dealer can arrange to get them coated and the cost will be 500-800. You can have it all done before you take delivery. Personally it's exactly what I would be if I was to buy a XB7.
I didn't realize they could powder coat to make it look like a bright metal finish. I always figures powder coat was for colors that looked like paint mainly. Great to know, I'll ask the dealer and see if they can get me color samples.
If the wheels are forged, do not powder coat, it weakens the metal. Just have them repainted.
