Goodbye M5, Hello Porsche Turbo S.
I picked up my new Porsche 991 Turbo S on Friday and traded in the M5
I will miss the M5, but this P car is nothing short of amazing. The PDK is so intelligent and thinks way ahead of you when changing down and with not a hint of a delay up either up or downshifts. still getting used to the car and bedding in the new tyres, so no flat out launch control blasts just yet... here are a few pics of the collection day and then I met a couple of friends who came to the P dealer with me in their GTR and Malaren, for a mini road trip.

thanks Guys...
I never thought i'd be a Porsche guy, but having owned BMWs for so long and driven Mclarens, lambo and Astons recently. the Porsche turbo s just ticked all the boxes as an every day super car and I can fit 3 of my 4 kids in it! I have to select my favourite ones on the day I truly do love this car, this time! Hate the Nav and media at the moment. And not having a multi function steering wheel sucks, as have the sports steering wheel instead. Not as clever or helpful as BMWs Idrive. Bose is ok, but bassy/boomy even when bass turned to 0. It needs tweaking and playing with for hours to get it right, as do the seat positions... The ride is very good. Softer and smother over bumps than the m5 cp. Handling is simply superb. Feels quite wide at the rear but actually it isn't when you get out and look how you've parked or positioned yourself on the road. Exhaust sounds peachy when in sport or sp+. PDK is so intelligent and almost reads your mind to change down when in sp. so much smoother than dct. although I have noticed a short delay when not in sport mode Launch control, coz you know I had to try it, is bonkers. Literally takes your breath away. Porsche in Cambridge were superb, can't recommend them enough. Sighing up for a Euro trip with some guys with similar sports cars next year which will be great. Supercars of essex or something like that. Despite the ave mpg saying 16. I seemed to do a whole tank of juice in like 120 miles...? Something's not right there me thinks! But was only £66 odd quid to fill up, compared to a ton in the m5. Kids love it and Porsche is their new favourite car. Yet to take the Mrs out in it, but she likes the look which is a good start! Any clue how to get your playlist on iPhone/pod up on the screen rather than them only playing in order or Random? Or via selecting albums, artists etc. on the device itself? Tried it via sub and Bluetooth, but no success. Is it even possible? Unfortunately, I've got no user guide or manual yet, as Porsche didn't have one with my car yet... To follow in the post. Rear seats are actually pretty good. My 12 year old daughter and 9 year old son fit fine in the back, with the 13 year old up front, as long as I shift forward a bit. Not great for a long run tho. For me that is. Can't wait to get up and drive it home from work and tomorrow. Don't care if it's wet either

thanks. I intend to drive her how Porsche recommend me to... the SA said that I do not have to go easy on the engine or have any form of break in period, just the tyres and my lack of ability need breaking in!!

This board sells more Porsches than a Porsche salesman.
Gas mileage on the 991 TTS is 12 or less when run in sport or sport + all the time. It can do better in regular but then the exhaust note suffers. Anyway, gas is cheap now thanks to us shale oil producers out in West Texas. |

Very very very very very very very NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love to color combo. EXACTLY what I ordered on mine that I never took delivery of (I have never actually bought a car that I ordered-too many distractions along the way-lol) I know you are loving it by now. And NO REASON to wait on the launch! You have NO IDEA what you have there my friend until it blurs your eyes and rips the skin off of your face!

thanks all for your comments
can I ask.... is it normal for the PDK to not allow you go into 7th gear when in auto and 'sport' and when in 'sport plus' you cannot even manually change into 7th with the paddles.. is this correct? also when in sp+ and in auto, it doesn't seem to change gear until it red lines. so you are forced to put it in manual and play with the paddles. not a problem and I guess its for race/track time. but a curious setting... I am loving it. and have discovered a few more functions this morning on the way to work with the handsfree, voice control, car and media functions. another question sorry.... at what point does the rear and front spoiler become automatic over c70-mph? only when in Sport or sport plus modes? do you need to press the spoiler button just once and then it's auto or hold it down for like 5 seconds to fully extend? but then it's up and out all the time?! thanks
