As I mentioned in your thread on the other forum, regardless of what the website may indicate, the M Sport does not come with the adaptive suspension. It is part of the DHP.

My dealer is giving me the option to reorder the car for the brake, and tire set up. On My order sheet for the car coming in, it does include the adaptive suspension. |

But on a RWD car the golden rule is a bit different- you need DHP if you have little kids or a wife who gets nauseous. DHP's Adaptive M Suspension is brilliant for Sport driving but it's lesser-known secondary feature is that it can turn any M-Sport beast into a soft Luxury line for those times that the wife and kids come into play and don't appreciate every road imperfection and vibration. |

Back to the OP: I am not sure what your expectation is, you can either go with DHP; or no DHP and then get after market coilover. |

The adaptive suspension being "included" is a bug in the software. Mine showed up as having adaptive suspension on the order tracking website but I didn't order it nor did it come with the car. If you want adaptive suspension you MUST add DHP.
BMW should get their sh*t together. Including adaptive suspension on order forms and tracking sites and giving non-DHP models the option to configure chassis settings in sport mode is just confusing everyone. DHP models should have a separate button for the suspension so it is clear to everyone what cars have what. |

Don't trust your order sheet. Your car will not come with adaptive suspension, even if the web site and car sticker show it. If you have the option to still add it to your car, then I recommend you go back to the dealer and test drive a car with and without DHP to determine if its something you really want. Getting conflicting information on the web should be an indication that its something you're going to have to decide on yourself.

DHP allows the owner a choice between the cushy soft Comfort suspension found in the F30 and the hard Sport suspension found in the E90. It makes physical changes to the system and does it all in real time on the fly. It is absolutely a piece of automotive magic. The other day I drove my 10-year-old daughter to work and we crossed the Tappan Zee bridge. It's a very long bridge with a very uneven surface and in Sport the car was all road-feel and jarring and making her feel ill. One push of the button, the suspension softened up, problem solved. It was if I had the power to change the road service from uneven to glassy smooth. |

I want to thank all of you for your great comments and inputs. With all of your help I was able to make a decision Just in time. I will explain. Some of the key comments that helped me to decide are: Nauseous Wives and Children Getting old Bad Roads My wife an children already are real cream puffs, after I tuned the suspension on my Volvo 940, I could not drive up to Estes Park from Fort Collins with out someone with out someone hurling. Though I am a kid inside, my outside is starting to creak and I intend on owning this car as long as I can. one reason I got the revers camera incase my neck petrifies. Since Los Angeles is not taking care of its roads, the concrete joints on the 405 caused my to turn down the S60 because it felt like a go-cart going down stares. At times I thought I broke my SAAB on the 405 until I realized....I'm Driving on the 405. So thanks to all of you I was able to make it to my dealer to reorder my 428 Gran Coupe with the Dynamic Handling Package and M Sport brakes, that were replacing the 428 standard single piston front and back brakes. When I got the dealer, my salesman was accommodating and gave the same deal with the added cost of the Options. He said it was good I came in there then because the costs will go up January 5th. When he went to order he car he found that his store could not since they hit their allotment for this build cycle for this car, He was able to contact his sister store, that still had allotments available, that he could draw from. Production will start Monday. Thank you all again for your help. I hope I can return the favor. |

It is well worth my money to minimize extra noise from the passenger seat with the press of a button. |

I just jumped from 3 years in an F30 328i RWD on the standard suspension to an F36 428i RWD on the Adaptive M Suspension and here is a comparison of the following: 2013 328i Sedan RWD (on standard suspension) 2015 428i Gran Coupe RWD (Adaptive M Suspension in Sport) 2015 428i Gran Coupe RWD (Adaptive M Suspension in Comfort) I drive the same commute every day, I drive over the Tappan Zee Bridge 250 times a year, twice a day, once over and once back. In my 328i (standard suspension) for the past 250 drives, the bridge felt just like any other road in the NYC metro area. A bit choppy, but nothing that made you say "hey, I'm on a strangely different road surface from any of the highways I've just been driving on". In my new 428i (DHP Adaptive M in Sport) for the week I've owned it, the bridge became an amusement park ride. All the road imperfections coming right through my seat, and now I am noticing some very up/down/up/down porpoising over the expansion joints. Let me note here that this isn't a "floating" feeling, but rather like a thrill ride where the roller coaster cars are falling then climbing up again over and over, every 3 seconds. The car is planted, it's not bouncing, it's just dropping sharply every time the expansion joint comes up against the next segment. The bridge is 3 miles long, this goes on for about 2 miles or 2 minutes straight before the traffic to the toll plaza slows down to a halt. When I took my daughter to work she noticed this and was feeling a touch nauseous. So I hit the "Comfort" mode in the 428i (DHP Adaptive now in Comfort), and boom, just like that, just like magic, those up/down/up/down roller coaster car feelings are gone and the car is just like my 328i with the standard suspension, you don't even notice the undulation and the amusement park ride. For the next 5 days I take half the trip up the bridge in Sport (1 minute) and then hit the button to Comfort (1 minute) just to make sure I'm not imagining things. Point is, the Adaptive M Suspension in a RWD car truly allows the driver to have a tight Sport suspension and a soft Comfort suspension at the touch of a button. It is not a marketing ploy. It truly transforms the car and gives the best of both worlds. I can drive a Luxury line when I need to and drive an M-Sport line when I want to. |

As someone who did NOT get DHP, I recommend you get it. I don't have complaints about my suspension, but checking that box is definitely an improvement both for sporty driving and regular commuting.
