Roughness / Harshness

I've had my new 2019 X7 for about a month now, and one thing I've noticed is a bit of harshness/roughness from the foot area of the drivers side when I first start driving off from a stop. I also notice a bit of harshness or rumbling from the bottom of the vehicle while idling. Has anyone else experienced this? Wondering if this is normal, or worth taking to the dealer to get check?

Thanks.

I think I know what you are talking about based on your description of what you are experiencing - as I have "sensed" it a bit too, but only occasionally. I am trying to be objective about it because it is easy to let your imagination run wild with stuff like that as you adjust to a new car. I currently have ~1400 miles on mine and things appear to be "quieting down" as the engine fully breaks in. But despite what I "may" be occasionally sensing, I am not overly concerned at this time and it has not taken away from the overall enjoyment of owning my X7 for that past few months. But I also like to have as much evidence as possible of a potential issue before I go to the dealer so I will continue to take my mental notes. BMW designs very good and reliable 6-cyl engines, and the B58 does not appear to be an exception (and it has been in multiple BMW models since 2014...).

On a related note, I just did a 1200 mile "break-in" service engine oil change on my X7 (actually closer to 1300 miles, only required on M-cars, but I wanted to do it on my X7 too as a good maintenance practice - the DIY was ridiculously easy). I put in the thicker 0W-30 BMW synthetic oil vice the 0W-20 oil that was most likely in it from the factory. The thicker oil provides better wear protection so it will be interesting if what I have been occasionally sensing will further improve...

I have only noticed this on 40i. Is that what you have? If so it has been in every 40i I have driven.

Yes I have the 40i. Everything I've read has always said how smooth the car is and I don't recall experiencing it on my test drive.

Don't notice that on the 50i.
