M Mirrors
For anyone interested in making their X7 stand out a little more, I got in touch with IND and ordered the "M" version mirrors. They did a great job matching the mineral white and very pleased on how they look. Something subtle but adds a bit more a sports flare to the M-Sport.

I am assuming it is a direct swap with the original mirror internals, with all functions (including motorized) still retained? What did IND charge you for the the parts, before the painting?
Do you have any additional pics with a wider view of your X7?

The ring and outer caps are a direct swap. Everything else remains as-is. For pricing, you'll need to reach out to them and painting and shipping is involved.
Here is a wider pic (not mine). Was on the site posted by someone else. |

Looks good! I am surprised BMW does not offer this from the factory on the M-sport package, at least on the M50i. And the parts to do it are not that expensive either.
Did you do the install yourself? If so, did you need to remove the entire mirror assembly from the car, or does the outer ring come off with the base of the mirror assembly remaining on the car? I took a look at the factory procedure to remove the mirrors, and it appears that removing the outer supporting ring does not require entire mirror assembly removal, but I was not 100% sure.

It does have a more sporty look, so if you ordered the M-Sport pkg for the look, this does help add to it.
I did do the install, about 15 minutes a side. Simply pop mirror off, disconnect connectors from glass and then remove rear cap. With rear cap off, remove 5 torx screws and remove outer ring. Attach new ring, fasten, attach new rear cap and re-install glass. |

I just placed an order for the necessary parts (not from IND though). I have not decided where I will get the mirror caps painted yet (I plan to go with body color). But any decent body shop should be able to match the BMW paint quality for a reasonable cost since the mirror caps come primed and ready to paint and are not big pieces to paint. I may even go with my local BMW dealership which also has a collision repair body shop and pay the premium BMW price so there will be no questions about paint quality.
This mod may not be for everyone (although I would be surprised if anyone with the M-Sport package would not find it appealing). But for a cosmetic mod, the cost/benefit seems very good to me, even for BMW price standards. For anyone who is curious, I got the above four parts for $262 + shipping (exact shipping is different for just those parts as I also ordered other parts at the same time, but I will estimate ~$35 to ship just those parts). A little research reveals that these parts are currently from the G03 X3M and G04 X4M. The X3, X4, X5, X6 and X7 (G-series models) all share the same exterior mirror design so the parts are all interchangeable. It would not surprise me if you see this mirror design on future X7 M50i models (the 2020 X5M has it) - so get in now if you want to be ahead of the curve for the X7 ... Thanks again to the OP for providing this info.....
