I don't think it's a bad thing at all clearly each style is not for everyone. I am glad they are giving us the consumers options. For people who want the V8 and not the M-Sport they will now have to pay extra to get into the XB7 since they apparently dropped the 50i model for 2021.

Enjoy your XB7 when you get it, don't settle for anything less . I'm sure it will be great fun

I'm interested in a XB7 but the numbers have to make sense. I may end up trading for a 2021 m50i which is also a terrific looking SAV.

It would be nice to have because of its rarity but to side step from my M50i to an XB7 doesn't make sense to me.

The above video gives the best look so far inside the 2021 ALPINA XB7 and you can see they did some special leather treatments to the interior seating with better leathers and XB7 embossing. The contrasting blue leather panels are a little different compared to the current X7 Blue/Ivory. He doesn't mention the exterior color but it may be ALPINA Blue. Just a guess.

My opinion

My first post and just my 2cents on the subject.
I am enjoying my 94K MSRP X7 4.0, love every second I am behind the wheel. But, I missed power and torque, so I installed Race chip and Race chip XLR on it. Huge difference, but not enough.
Since day when BMW and Alpina made statement on XB7, I knew I would take it. This Saturday, me and my wife going to my local Bmw store in NJ, just to see two colors in person: phytonic blue metallic vs tanzanite II blue. And reserve XB7 for August production. My MSRP build will be 152,550 with Phytonic or few dollars more with tanzanite.

About price: when you shopping around jewelry for example, you have many different choices, go to Tiffany and overpay for service, quality, and unique products that you will be enjoying many years to come. Or go to local unbranded jewelry store and spend 50% less on something with yellowish stone, less clarity and cetera.
That why, I will buy XB7 regardless of 30K I over pay if I settle for nice and loaded M50, or 60K for nice loaded Msport 4.0.
You pay for unique experience that you and 400 lucky owners in 2020 will enjoy every second. And I know that we have to pay for it.
My payment will be around 1900-2000 a month, and dealer giving me 6% off MSRP.
Any opinion matters, and this is mine. You like it or not.

P.S
Just disappointed that there is no Alpina Green and Blue available right now. My choice would be Green.

Most of the pre-release photos of the XB7 are Phytonic Blue but I'm sure it would look good wrapped in TB II. Which interior color are you thinking about? I think the Blue/Ivory in the video looks awesome.

Thanks! The only think I constantly went back and forth about was the the tow hitch. When I have my 3 large dogs in the trunk area and have to carry bikes, I would have to put on a tow hitch bike rack but I didn't like the asthetics of the rear diffuser so I opted against it.

Decided to use the significant others car for the bike duties. I hope I don't end up regretting it cause it costs more to put it on after the car arrives.

I love how the shadowline trim blacks out all the chrome on the side and front on your X7. On the Alpina, it only does the window trim and the roof rail. Are you going to do the rest of the trim after you get the car or just leave it stock?
