Seat Cooling/Ventalation help
I have a 2019 X740i. I have tried to activate the seat cooling function by setting the climate control button on the dash. I then touch the blue setting up to three. I feel nothing in the seat. No cooling, no ventilation, nothing. In winter the heating function worked as expected.
I went to the owner's manual and under ventilation it says: "Press the button. Select the ventilation level: ▷ Press the button once for each level. ▷ Turn the Controller until the desired level is reached. Press the Controller. ▷ Select the desired level on the touch‐ screen. Highest level reached when three blue LEDs light up on the button or three blue bars are shown on the Control Display" What exactly is the "controller"? Is that the regular fan setting? What I want is cooling. I had seat cooling in a 2015 Suburban and it was quite evident when on and got very cool. My BMW gives me zip. |

The X7 doesn't have cooled seats. They're ventilated, with the concept being to gently circulate air to minimize perspiration. You're not going to feel any significant amount of air moving and you're not going to get a significant cooling effect on the seats. |

Ironically I can only feel cool air when I'm completely sweat drenched and my shirt is slightly wet... Otherwise, doesnt feel like much of anything.

As has been mentioned they are not cooled but ventilated, the temperature here is hitting the mid 40's most days and they are quite effective IMHO.

As other have said, you can't notice much cooling, and depending on the ambient temperatures, the ventilation is not too noticeable either. I think the most noticeable part is the noise the fan makes. If you can't hear a difference between the seats set to 3 and off in a quiet setting, then there's probably an issue with the fan motor and your SA will also likely have to order the part in, so expect 2 trips. Try on the passenger side as well, that's likely a different motor in the seat, so you might at least be able to tell the difference if the driver's side is out.

Remote coding has solved this issue for the X5/X6. The coder can increase the fan speed.
