Same here...even though I'm a McLaren fan...but its great to see a team like Red Bull who stick to their "no team order" principal ...and driver like SV who is so good in race, calm, despite a few mistakes and unlucky season, very cheerful and never gives up...with a great personality...he will be awesome and legendary in the future!!!

Man, those guys are living large . Thought RedBull was an american company that only made those booze drinks (I don't drink alcohol myself), but seems to be an Austrian company. Have no idea what else they make, but am sure there's something else than RedBull drinks, no? They should also make cars, with an engineering team like that. And now their newfound F1 fame. They don't have their own engine, but they make transmissions, right? Wonder if they'll eventually venture into cars. Seems weird to be F1 champions and they don't even build road cars .

Not much, they also make RedBull Coke and a water ('Lunaqua'). Not bad for a volume of EUR 3 bn a year, is it?

Best regards,
south

Fixed.

Seriously though, how amazing would it be to own an Adrian Newey designed car? Granted he specializes in aero, so that means you'd be obligated to drive it really really fast!

One other thought.

Button went something like 46 laps on the supersoft slicks. ~75% of the race. Bridgestone, don't let the door hit you. Can't wait for Pirelli's new aggressive approach to tires come 2011!

Adrian's formula of winning, British factory (Williams, Red Bull) + Renault Engine + Newey = Championship winning cars...

well...also McLaren + Mercedes Engine...

Well yeah. If you can do over half a race on the softer tire that is ridiculous. Remember how exciting Canada was? That's how tires should be. Two stops at every race should be a minimum, unless you're someone like Button who is really easy on them. But running over 35 laps on supersofts really dulls the racing.

I guess because the Yas Marina track is very smooth and less abrasive than Montreal, thus the option tires last loner than expected....

I was just using Montreal as an example. What about Hungary? They race there every year, it's an old track, and Webber still drove over half the race on softs. Bridgestone is bringing the level of racing down by providing tires that are too good.

When the tires last so long that over half can be done on the softer of the the two why would anyone pit more than once? The races become more processional. Besides Australia and Canada I can't think of another race where you had no idea who would win after just a few laps. Sure with Australia you can say a drying track and all but Canada had no rain whatsoever. So the next variable is the tires going off much faster than expected.

One characteristic about the Bridgestone option tires was it builds up grain after a certain lap, then once the "graining" shed off the tires, it will come back to life again.

We'll see what will Pirelli brings to the race.

It will be excited to see the tires degrade faster than teams expected.

is that proposal about increasing the wheel size and reducing the tyre profile still on the table? Pirelli wanted it, but not for next year, because the teams couldn't adapt so quickly. That would be neat, pimped out wheels on an F1 car!!!

I'd guess that will be on the next Concord agreement.

Boy for a billion bucks you'd think they would have built a track that allowed racing. This was more a less a parade. The only big surprise was Ferrari's ineptitude.
