HRT should be sold to a more competitive team...
seemed like their target this season is to stay within 107% rule....

I'd like to see Toro Rosso become USGP, if there is such a thing still somewhere in the works, and HRT just kind of fade away. The team's infrastructure must be in such shambles I wouldn't want anyone to buy it just cause it might drive them away.

Its sad to see USGP didn't make it last year due to poor management. I wish someone with experience (Flavio?) would help and establish the team.

No need, it was a mistake that benefited RBR.

It definitely slowed vettels pit stop... and it was definitely not safe for the pit crew.
Rules are not to be enforced weather or not that helped or hurt anyone, they are to be enforced when broken. (unless, of course, the rules says "gains an advantage by" )

Besides Vettel himself didn't even mention any slow down. If there was any, it was marginal and certainly less than if he would have actually had to overtake Button on the track. Even if he overtook him easily after the first corner the time delta would have come out to be equal or worse. To get any penalty RBR probably would have had to report it, but they seemed happy to have Vettel jump Button in the pits. I understand your point though, and I side with you about penalties being for a broken rule not for the circumstances around it.

There has to be some rule though, otherwise a teammate could just camp in another teams pit box for his teammates benefit (if he was already way far behind)

If your teammate camps outside another team's pit, you might even consider as "retired" and be pushed away by marshalls. If you drive away when marshals trying to push you away, you might breaking some other rules I suppose. So I guess there's some sort of rules indirectly prevent scenarios like these to happen. And no body would bother to do it since its way too obvious and display poor image to the sport.

Driver of the day was clearly Webber.
IMO the definitive moment for Sebastian (and in turn Hamilton) was him losing the lead and unable to gap and having to switch to a 2 stopper, which worked until his tires went off. The 2 stop strategy was still the right call as Horner defended after the race. Hamilton really seemed to think this weekend through and this win was much deserved. Surprised Massa got Alonso off the line again and put in a very good race. Ferrari had a biblically awful Turkish Grand Prix last year, let's hope it looks better. Alonso may say he's not disheartened but he certainly looks it. 3 weeks is too long to wait. |

Grabbed these off JamesAllen.
This is the reason Webber ended up in 3rd. Starting on the Prime and ending on the soft with low fuel resulted in him having ROCKET lap times.

Great website, huh? It's unbelievable that one car could be SO much quicker than the rest. It truly shows how big a difference there is between the hard and the soft this year. Round of applause to Pirelli for creating the show! |
