Was waiting for better temps, but was curious what the performance numbers are for winter. Launch control was used (DHP too), and I am on 285/45/21 winter tires with OEM 21" wheels. 32psi fronts and 40psi rear. 91 non-ethanol gas. 26 degrees outside. I'll upload the video once I've reviewed it.
Here are the dragy captures: Last edited by itiongo; 03-27-2022 at 05:16 PM.. |

Here's the video. This is the first time I recorded the dashboard as well as Dragy. I synced the videos using sound/movement. I'm surprised there's quite a bit of difference from the speedo from Dragy vs the vehicle's.

It would sure be nice to have two different threads for the x40i and the V8 version. Either that or specify which model you have when posting so we can make a more informed opinion/decision on whether or not the V8 models are worth the significant price increase.
Everyone doesn't have an X7 V8 model. |

Considering that this thread itself is quite unpopular, I assume 95% of x50i/M50i/XB7 owner's don't care much about performance either. They probably purchased these high end models because they can. I myself don't care much for the performance either, but I come from a background of modifying performance vehicles. So, it's never a bad idea to truly know what your vehicles are capable of, and sometimes have a little fun. |

Additionally, I make a lot of cross country road trips and passing power plays a big roll in my car purchasing decisions. I looked at Lexus first and knew I could never feel comfortable passing anything larger than a bicycle on the road in that turtle. Not to mention terrible handling. I've seen no other vehicle in it's class that has the acceleration and power of this inline 6. Plus the compliant ride and exceptional handling for it's size. |

Sure, the V8s are amazing engines too with a good amount of extra power over those I6's, but, I really look at them strictly as an emotional choice rather than anything else. The B58 has everything a car can need on the road these days. 100hp-200hp more are just for bragging rights, not for necessity. Especially in a 6000lbs SUV.
