yes. the US hitch removes the kick to open sensor

the status will be either on the VIR from your CA or if you dig through the code on the page in chrome developer mode, its hiding there (along with a bunch of other info later on, like actual production date, build codes, etc)

So we got a production number that our SA sent us, but we never actually told him what options and stuff we wanted lol. Looking up on bmwusa.com, it just looks like it has all the options. Is that normal? that it gets this far in the process without us even going to the dealer to choose options and sign off on a final price?

assuming no epa hold and if your prod week is 31, its possible

one of my past orders from spartanburg to a dealer in the NYC area, so about the same distance...

ordered aug 20th
in production aug 20th (evening)
released to trucking aug 30th
at the dealer sept 5th

it would have been 14 days total if not for labor day weekend.

that order was exceptionally lucky as everything lined up, custom order went in in the morning, flipped to in production that night, waited 1 day for trucking.

another order that year took 20 days, it did not go into production immediately and had to wait a few days to get loaded on a trailer.

err is your name on the VIR? that might be still configured for stock.

its just an allocation slot at the moment, it wont lock till about 2 weeks before production begins. if you havent had the discussion, you probably need to have it soon.
if its a week 31 slot, my guess is you have a week max to finalize the details before the build locks and cant be changed.

Thanks for the Intel. I’m in scheduled for production mode. Not sure if I can tell the production week - nothing indicated on my Vehicle Inquiry Report where I got the production number from (any insights?). Even if it comes while I’m away I’ll just drive back to Buffalo to switch cars and then head back.

most likely its week 31, once the order goes status 150 the prod date will be available.

week 31 of the year= aug 1-aug 8 2022.
my guess is it may flip to locked in a week.

Hi, everyone. I have a VIR for a 2023 X7 M60i order that I placed on June 23. I was looking to track progress in the BMW tracker but my dealer rep says I don't have a production number yet and doesn't expect one until September. I am first on their list for a 23 X7 but they don't have any allocations yet. This doesn't seem consistent with what you all are describing with your orders. Any thoughts/advice on this?

small dealer? its possible they didnt get any allocations, but i would think all of the dealers would have gotten at least one for a floor model.

and not to be the paranoid one, how good of a deal did you make with them?

Definitely weird. I notified my SA today people were getting theirs and she submitted the final order request and I got my production number within a few minutes.

Not really a small dealer, one of four dealers in a large city. I got it at MSRP which seems to be standard in my area.

Is it possible the allocation still comes in the next few days?

dont think so, U235 is in texas and has a prod allocation already (see the first page)
if they are saying to not expect an allocation till sept, it sounds like they are keeping the first month or so of production for lot cars or have actually presold more than they are telling you.

in theory yes. you'll be able to see the production date when it goes to status 150. your CA should know as well

I noticed that U235 got one and it is also an M60i.

The explanation I got is that every dealer has different allocation parameters and they have not received allocation for this model yet. Sound right?

So I made the adjustment to add full ivory/atlas grey leather and CA said that it would delay things indefinitely. My guess is late september/early October delivery.
