but don't panic if the ordered the 6FL ipod option and it doesn't show under the review order details mine isn't listed and from what I read most people's aren't. Calling the 800# to check your order details is probably best

That's odd maybe their system just hasn't been updated yet? The first time I called I was told the system had just shut down for the daily update but the rep was able to pull up my info on a backup system. When did you order and get your PN? If you got the PN in the last few days could just be a situation of waiting for the system to get updated info. Still I'd call my CA and check.

OC --- a Waste of Time
Quote:
I am really amazed that BMW has not gotten its act together --- any communication system that has 3 different statuses (one on line, one on the automated phone system, and one with a real person) is not my idea of effective or efficient customer service. So much for the much-vaunted German efficiency! What is does is create: a. confusion, b. ill-will, and c. more work for CAs and CS reps, who have to deal with clients who have shelled out BIG BUCKS and expect a consistent --- and correct answer. Imagine the reduced frustration level all around, if the info were centralized, transparent, and available on-line... But then, again, that would mean getting into the 20th century (forget even the though of innovation in communication for BMW in the 21st century!). |

weird.
for me, the OC site updated the status pretty well. in fact, my 1800 crack routine would go something like this. 1) listen for the automated vehicle production status (which i found to be a day late compared to the rep) 2) then talk to a rep who will tell you the most recent status 3) check OC just for the heck of it. (it's usually a day or two late compared to the automated msg for me. so say 2/3 days later than the most current status from the rep on 1800 line) OC has not been bad for me at all. |

Your Routine Is Much Like Mine... But We Shouldn't Have to Do 3 Separate Sources!
Quote:
My OC entry has the wrong model number, some incorrect options, and has been "on order" for 5 weeks. The live rep has the right info and can even say when it is scheduled for production. If he has the right info, so should the OC. In this age of real-time entries, the OC's being so far behind, inaccurate, and less than fully communicative on status boggles the mind.... especially when one is paying $50k for a car. It is not like the OC could not be real-time; the technology is here... if the reps can see a screen and provide info to someone over the phone, there is no reason --- technologically --- why I can't see the same thing on the OC if there was linkage and if IT WERE A PRIORITY. Unfortunately, it isn't a priority for BMW. It still wants people to call the 800, speak to a rep, or call the CA.... wasting time and effort all around. I have seen threads that indicate how CAs and CS reps are getting "annoyed" by people calling in. I just want to help reduce the frustration level all around by advocating a seemless, transparent, real-time communication system on status. |

The OC is useless, only good for confirming your specs but not all of them. Right now the OC says my car In Route and still not even at VPC. When in fact dealer told me today the car is on the way to their dealer and will be here Mon or Tues.
So OC is totally behind. More confusion than help. No update=not much help. Creates more calls to the CA and to the 800#. |
