X7 x40i new or CPO SF Bay Area pricing
Hi folks,
I am recently shopping for 3 rows SUV to replace my 11 yrs old Lexus. I tested a 2022 X7 x40i m-sport CPO with 14K miles and really like the drive and ride. However the asking is $77K while the new build back then was $86K.. not much off from the new car's MSRP. I wonder if any Bay Area members are willing to share what price they paid for their new or CPO X7 x40i? and any recommended dealers to go to? I visited Fremont BMW once and they don't seem to care about your business and only allow one to drive around the block with 4 right turns during the test drive.. not a very pleasant experience. Any advice is appreciated. -- william |

CPO has gotten ridiculously expensive and many dealers are no CPO'ing cars anymore, according to my sales guy.
Just last week when discussing options on my 2021 X7 40i lease buyout, asked what maintenance extension was and 1 yr on top of factory warranty, answer was about $10k, sure there could be some negotiation on that but was so high wasn't even worth it.

This is the quote I got for platinum warranty 0 deductible for my 2021 X5 M50i. This is from a dealer who is a forum member here. For a 40i, it should be cheaper.
This is the Platinum warranty with no deductible. All time and miles begin from the vehicles original in service date. BMW will cover a vehicle for a total of 7 years. The options below would add an additional 1, 2 or 3 years. 60 months/75k miles $4450 60 months/100k miles $5000 72 months/75k miles $5250 72 months/100k miles $6050 84 months/75k miles $6000 84 months/100k miles $7300 |

$77k for a 21 40i seems a bit high.
2021 M50i CPO Here's a 2021 M50i CPO for under $79k. Original sticker $111k 2021 M50i CPO Another for $77k 2022 40i CPO And a 2022 40i CPO for $77k. Shop around. |

Shop out of state. That’s my plan and I live in the Bay Area as well. I saw one in Texas, fully loaded 40i, for $60k and 30k miles. Had a white interior though which is why it is probably still for sale.

I paid just over that for new in Dec. I think there was a small window end of last year\ early this year where discounts could be had. May be try shopping end of dec when they are looking to move inventory. From a test drive perspective I had a good experience at eastbay bmw. May be try them.

Bay area is sick .... I am on the same boat, looking to buy a new X7 X40i, went to Mountain View, Fremont, and San Francisco BMW and none of them are willing to negotiate the price, not even $1 penny... and not to mention that the car has been on their lot for over 70 days ...
I just secured a good deal in Arizona yesterday, OP might consider buying from nearby state like Utah, Oregon, or Arizona. Shop around, the crazy markup time is over, don't know when stealership in the Bay Area would wake up.

I managed to get 5% below MSRP on a brand new X7 x40i, which isn't something crazy but it's the best deal I got so far, none of the dealers in the Bay Area I visited willing to do a price match.
The negotiation was also fairly simple, I said a number, take it or leave it, they initially gave me a hard NO, but then came back to me four days after said they will do it if I can do cash.

Honestly I was afraid I was going to run into this thread. I got giddy over a new car and probably overpaid.
CPO 2023 40i with 19k miles, msport package, msport brake, premium package, driving assistance, 22" black wheels, captains chairs..... paid $78k. I remember pulling out my phone to get MSRP on a new one and it was only about ~10-15k higher. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love it but I had to stop looking at listings after I purchased to prevent purchase hangover lol. |

Here are one I found quickly. There are several others. Set your filters on auto trader to 2021-2022, x7 40i, and any distance from you. I also set mileage filter to <45k. Last edited by Madsen203; 10-21-2023 at 09:21 PM.. |

I am on SoCal. I got the best deal on X5 50e with an individual paint from BMW Mountain View. 6% off MSRP. None of SoCal dealers wanted to go below MSRP on 50e. Gas version yes, but not hybrid.
I think you just need to check all of the places and potentially contact different sales guys at the same dealer. |

You may want to look at loaded 20 models as well. 21-22 are the years a lot of options and standard equipment were cut. For our second X7, a fully loaded M50i CPO with 2 years of warranty left, I paid $71k in July. Found it in SoCal and made it into a road trip back to Bay Area.

My recommendation is to work with a broker. I used Cartelligent last year for my custom built X7 40i, got ~7% off msrp. There is some broker fee but you never need to deal with anyone from dealer in the entire process. Totally worth it!
FWIW, they ended up sourcing my car from BMW Stevens Creek. |
