Curious what you are seeing on your M60’s in mostly non-hwy commuting. Typically the trip comp is optimistic, but on my last tank in my 40i as measured at the pump was 20.1 mpg v trip computer 20.4 mpg. 310 miles of approx. 90/10 city/hwy. Really impressive. Had 140 miles of range remaining. I have some v8 regret but love the range.

On my M50i I get about 16-17 mpg with mostly city driving. 22-23 mpg on highways at 75-80 mph.

It's hard to compare what others get vs what you may get. So many different variables that can affect mpg.

Example of what I mean. Around my home "City", in my 40i, I get 13-14 mpg. Lots of short trips in stop and go traffic with elevation changes.
In a different "City" where the trips are a little bit longer, roads are flatters and fewer stop and go, I've gotten around 20 mpg in the same car driven the same way.
While both are considered "City" driving, the roads/environment is different thus getting different results.

It's been discussed in other threads, don't trust the # in the app. it's overly optimistic. I've had the app show 30+ mpg while actual measure #'s at the pump is 25.x mpg.

Yeah measure at the pump
Last week went for a mountain drive in the Z4 - app said 26, car said 21. Didn’t get gas, but if I did would probably calc at 20.

If you really want to, you can get pretty good mileage in the M60i...20-24. And if you really want to, you can get really crappy mileage in a 40i...15-20.

As I get older, I do find myself stopping more during long road trips...not in much of a rush and don't need to log 12+ hours a day. I used to be able to get in 300+ miles before needing a break...now I just stop every 200miles or so for a break. And when I do stop I always get gas regardless of how low the tank is.

Range is great, but I'll trade that any day for the power and flexibility the M60i gives me for city and highway driving.

That is what we do every year going from PA to Florida with my family. We are very seasoned road warriors as we do this every winter and I tend to own the left lane on i95.
3 years back we did cannonball from Orlando to PA in one day to beat an ice storm hitting the North East. 1150 miles in one day and even then had to stop plenty enough to gas well before even 1/4 tank with the V8TT. The massaging seats were a godsend and all in all felt good and couldn’t have done that long in one day in any other luxury vehicle we have owned in the past.
