24 Alpina/Engine Off

When I put the car in park and then open the door why does thr enginr shut off? Drives me crazy when I jump out to drop something off or something.

Ugh. Thought this was only happening to me in a 50e. So frustrating. Even leaving my phone in the car as the key.

My workaround was restarting car right after you open the door.

Should only shut off if in “drive”, not in “park”. There is no reason for an engine to shut off if in park and open the door.

There is a plethora of reasons you would want the engine to continue to run while in park and you needed to step out of the vehicle.

Lol this thread pops up regularly. So if the engine is in ready state and you open the door the car will shut off. It's by design. Only way around is to kick the gas pedal down to make sure the engine is in idle before you open the door.

Other option is to be in sport mode so engine won't go into ready state.

That makes sense. So annoying. Very different how my 21 acted.

Alpina models don’t have eco mode, at least in the MY21 and 22. Not sure about MY23-24, but I would assume the same. The car shouldn’t shut off for any reason.
