I love it, I'm happy about the result, and I'm still a big stupid fan of the G wagen in spite of how stupid they are.

I love the X7 and think it beats the socks off of the direct competition but if I didn't need a third row there is no way I'd pick an X7 over the G. Its polarizing but the car still has something special to it that others don't. |

Well on the bright side at least the engine in the G-wagon hasn't gone through a decade or more of revisions trying to address below-average reliability because of leaking valve stems, timing chain failure, coolant system failures, numerous oil feed line revisions for the turbos.

I didn't know the resale on them was as high as you guys are stating ill have to look into them. Dont know much about them besides the one we took in on trade when I drove for a few

The G Wagon is really the German Wrangler that targets deeper pockets but deeper pockets have a lot more options to choose from. The luxury SUV market grew up and now there is so many other options than there was than even 5 years ago. The G Wagon in my area is always the 2nd or 3rd car in the garage to fill that “Euro Wrangler” niche. There are a lot of pre owned ones sitting on dealer lots in my little area so exclusivity isn’t close to what it was a few years back. Last edited by MystroX5; 10-08-2020 at 12:30 PM.. |

I won't comment on these silly "roll races" as it's irrelevant to anyone that would buy either of these vehicles. Might as well make a video comparing how many ice cream cones you can balance on the front seat.
Although I wouldn't call them a "dime a dozen", I see them much, much more often around compared to the X7. When I look at my street alone, there are a handful of new G63s, a Bentayga and a Cullinan. Not an X7 to be seen. |

For my money no matter the race I'd take a new G wagon over an X7 any day. However, truth be told I don't need or like the massive 3 row SUV's
If I'm buying an suv it would be a Cayenne for handling and speed and a RRS for comfort and cruising

The GWagen is nice, interior is well done and you are getting a hand assembled vehicle for $130k, which is a bargain for the effort that goes into them. They hold value amazingly well, 12 year old models going for 50% of MSRP is fairly common. All that said, I dropped my G550 allocation for a Cayenne, because no amount of engineering can make a G handle well. I don't need a 3 row vehicle, so didn't consider the X7, but depending on what they do with the X8, I may consider one (V8 hybrid would be perfect).

Proof that there are a lot people out there that care about what their neighbors think about them more then making the more logical choice. Aka the social media generation. |

I'm sure the Lexus forums say the same thing about our Bimmers as you just said of the RR. Everyone has their own preferences, I wouldn't assume reasons why others like certain cars just because you don't agree with their choices.

https://expeditionmotorcompany.com/b...d-wolf-074765/ I think they're awesome looking and come with some minor updates such as AC and brakes but still have the old Mercedes Diesel. If I had the money and the need for such a vehicle, I'd consider one of them.
