Why BMW can not fix Bmw connect??
Still many issues with the app ( remote view) and car play. I called Bmw multiple times and they final answer was "we are working on it"
I wonder how long does it take for them to fix connected drive issues |

My Genius told me an update is coming this month (June) specially to fix the CarPlay connection issues. He said it would not be an OTA update. Has anyone else been told about such an update coming this month?

There are several areas where the "bug" could be:
1) iDrive firmware in the car (specifically the iDrive ECU in the car) 2) iOS 12 from Apple 3) Connected App bug from BMW 4) All of the above My experience with BMW OTA updates in my F80 has been lukewarm at best. The reliability of the OTA updates does not seem that great and OTA updates seem to be reserved for less "difficult" updates, such as map upgrades and apparently new apps for ID7. Based on my experience with my F80 and various types of software updates I have done to my car, if I had to speculate, the update to address these issues will come either in the form of a USB update which you can download from BMWUSA.com or an I-Step update from the dealer. The USB updates are typically reserved for fixing/updating phone compatibility issues when phone manufacturers put out new phones and/or new phone operating systems with new features. These updates are based on VIN so if you put in your VIN at the site, it will tell you if there is an update available for your car. You can check here: https://www.bmw.com/en/footer/software-updates.html If the issue is bigger and requires a more complex fix, then an iDrive firmware update may be required, which is also called an I-Step update. An I-Step update also updates other modules in the car and they usually come out every few months from BMW. Unfortunately, an I-Step update requires a trip to the dealer. Also, if you have coded your car with an app like BimmerCode or from another coder, you will lose all of your custom coding when the I-Step is updated in your car.

My app was last updated April 19 & remote view stopped working sometime after May 25. That was roughly the time frame when I got the OTA update that added the 3 new features. So I suspect it's an iDrive issue (or compatibility of the older app with the newer iDrive).

What’s the issue with BMW Connected? Works fine on my G30 for a couple of years including Remote View.
