Forgot to mention... I have also called the BMW Genius line to get the "most" up to date info. The website currently shows my X7 "At the Port (Bon voyage!)"....yet the dealer and Genius line show it in Oxnard.

(800) 831-1117 You likely don’t have a VIN assigned yet so you’ll need your production number. |

FWIW- I ordered last Monday on 4/1 after 5pm and within a few days I got to pick my delivery date (PCD) on or after 5/14 (so exactly 6 weeks). I also discovered that my dealer will pick us up at home and take us to SC the night before.
So, while truck delivery can be variable. It seem bmw knows exactly when your x7 will be built after just a couple days post ordering. |

Update: I called the 800 number today and was told that my X7 began production today 4/8 and is scheduled with an end-production date of 4/16. So that's 9 days (including a weekend, so actually 7 working days) for those looking to gauge how April factory production is going.
Looks like I'll make Memorial Day with ease, looking forward to our first long trip in the new ride. |

The X7 is my first BMW and the info on this thread has been very helpful. Thanks to all who have posted. I'm wondering if anyone has ideas on a couple of things.
(1) My production week 8 X7, ordered in December, was in Quality Check from March 14 until today, when the status changed to awaiting carrier assignment. The dealer and Genius line don't know why quality check took a month saying it usually lasts 2-3 weeks. Has anyone else seen that kind of delay? Should I be worried there is an undisclosed problem with the vehicle? (2) Any idea how long it takes to get from the factory to Oxnard once a carrier is assigned? The dealer thinks it is 21 days, which seems like a long time, plus then time to trek from Oxnard to the Seattle area. Appreciate any thoughts. |

My X7 Order Process
I thought I would just share my X7 ordering experience and the time frame of the entire process.
My wife and I have been searching for a luxury 7 seater SUV for about a year and weren't really satisfied with anything on the market last year. A friend told me the X7 was coming out and we decided to take a look. Went for a couple of test drives in early March and was really impressed. We placed an order for X7 40i on March 23rd, 2019 at the dealership. Didn't choose too many options since the X7 comes with so much stuff standard. I checked the status on March 25th, 2019 and it said entering production. Status stayed at entering production until April 3rd, 2019 when it jumped to awaiting carrier assignment. Stayed at awaiting carrier assignment until April 8th when it jumped to arrived at dealership. I got excited and called my dealership but they said that just means it's on the truck over here. Waited another three days (I live in NJ) and the dealer called me today (April 11th) to tell me the X7 arrived. The process was faster than I expected given I was initially told there was a 5 week wait for X7s. |

I would think Oxnard to the Northwest would be about a week. Once it is checked in/assigned a carrier in Oxnard, the Genius line can give you a rough estimate when to expect it. |

My X7 Order Timeframe
Hi Everybody,
I'm a newbie to this forum, and I want to share my time frame experience. March 15 <- Reached a price agreement with BMW dealer, provided $1,000 deposit. March 17 <- Logged in to the BMW site for first time. Status: order received. March 20ish <-Status changed to scheduled for production. April 1st <- After reading another thread on this forum, called BMW Genius and found out that build was scheduled for week of April 8th. April 2nd <- Status changed to "Production Begins." VIN assigned. April 8th <- Vehicle started production; estimated completion date: April 12th according to 800 number automated message. April 11th <- Status jumped all the way to "Quality Check". April 12th <- Status still at "Quality Check". Cheers, DominicanJB Last edited by Dominicanjb; 04-13-2019 at 11:01 AM.. |

My X7 50i came out of production on March 18 and had been in quality check ever since. Today is April 13th. I'm hitting refresh like someone without anything else to do.
