That’s one man’s opinion and he certainly is entitled to it. But as the owner of an X7 I can tell you that I think the front grill is terrific, I really love it. It looks distinctive and makes it clear that this is not an X3 or an X5.

Spot on! Initially I was a doubter, but it fits the X7 and every time I walk in the garage that beautiful big kidney grill greets me. Love it!!

Agree 100%. The looks of the car are one of the reasons I wanted one. I didn’t want just something that was a slightly bigger X5. Love the design.

I can’t understand how anyone can see it in person and think it looks out of place. Not sure what else they think could fill up that space in a more pleasing way.

I believe people who don’t like the grill have only seen photographs or have read articles like this one; articles which are usually created to drive clicks and ad revenue. Since almost every review of the X7 has been overwhelmingly positive, I am guessing this writer created a negative article to generate some attention.

I agree. The only minor issue I have with it is that it collects a lot of bugs out on the road. That may have more to do with the overall size/shape of the vehicle than the grill though.

Yes! The entire front is a magnet for bugs. It must be the size and the vertical nature. I'm getting xpel film put on the front and the hood and side mirrors this week. Otherwise I'm worried the front is going to look beat up in a year. I had my X5M for 30 months and just turned it in when we got the X7. The only part of the car with messed up paint was the front.

that's funny, and no one ever mentioned the hideous front end of the new Lexus suv. Talk about out of place!

I personally don’t understand how journalists pass judgement so
quickly on something they’ve seen for so little. Understandably a kidney that large is disorienting but not at all out of place on this vehicle. For me personally I marvel at the design both inside and out every time I look at the vehicle, kidney and all.

Sports, music, cars, whatever the subject, I find myself disagreeing with critics all the time.

Yes, spot on. I have to admit to personal concern when seeing in the press and then switching to "wow" when seeing it in person at the motor show. I was just blown away by its presence, the amazing interior and the tech. Two things -

- BMW always seems to manage to polarise opinion with a new design but then within 6 months we love it - and most of the doubters too
- Do you still turn back to take a look at your X7 as you walk away?

The link doesn’t work for me.

I wonder what kind of support there is in the U.K. forum about this grill.

I have to admit that I was very negative about the X7 when I saw the online pics.

But I saw it in person last week and do you know what, it's not too bad when seen in the flesh! Agree that the grills are big but then the X7 is a bit of a beast!
