What I don't get about this X7 concept design,is why the storage area behind the 2nd row of seats is so small. The 3rd row will be stored into the floor most of the time but even when it is stored,it doesn't leave much space. The Mercedes GLS has way more space back there.

^ if I remember right this is a multi use platform. Standard X7, limo type X7 and even a RR version. I'm guessing they would move the seats forward for a true third row.
I see hints of Rover, Volvo, Infiniti, and that one off Rolls-Royce...hmm |

The whole hockey stick thing is bizarre. Draws the eye away from clean simple lines (referring to the new 5er/7er)to a fugly piece of chrome.
And when did chrome come back into fashion.... I thought chrome died in the 1970s????

Jesus Christ almighty, that is one hideous concept car. Usually concepts are more beautifully designed because designers have more free reign, but this?! Kill it with fire!!

The BMW design seems so fragmented now since they're having so many transitions.
The incoming X3 looks like it was finalized when BMW decided to stop connecting the grille to the headlights. But the current 5er that just came out still has the connected headlight/grille. And then this X7 concept looks like it was designed when BMW was sure that their future design language was going to be based on the CSL Homage concept from a couple years ago. And now they're saying the future design language will have a lot of cues from the Z4 concept. It's going to be like 10 years before there's a BMW lineup with a cohesive design language. |

Wow. What is going on at BMW? I thought the new X3 was a little off but then the 8 series seemed pretty nice (albeit old technology). This thing looks like a bad rendering come to life.
Beyond the design and it's just my opinion, but the X7 is a stupid segment to be in. Its a big gaudy people mover. They should make something that has multiple seats or cargo capacity but is as small as possible (like a Model X- not perfect but a great configuration) Next, when you consider the price this thing will go for, wouldn't you rather have a Tesla Model X? BMW needs to get back on on the electric horse they rode well to start. TESLA is going to eat them. |

The dimensions & layout of that front grille is UGLY. Seems like there's a synonymous vote on how ugly this much awaited concept. How sad

Why would BMW combine the very worst characteristics of the XC-90 and the Q80, and think they have a winner? I was really looking forward to this vehicle, hoping it would be the vehicle to pull me back into the BMW fold. If this is even vaguely representative of the final product, it's a huge disappointment.
After swearing I'd never own a Merc, I unloaded my X5, after merely two years, in favor of the GLS. I have been a BMW loyalist for decades, and I've owned a dozen of them over the past ten years, but BMW has lost its way and seems years behind the competition. This bloated, uninspired design seems to signal another generation of mediocrity from Munich. |
