I don't fault them for putting a 4 banger cause the competition does too at that price point. What matters is that the Bimmer has the best 4-cyl option and overall performance of them all. 540 would def be my choice though. Merc are crooks though, a well-equipped E300 w/ its sissy engine costs the same MSRP as a well-equipped 540 w/ 100 more hp.

I don't see a problem with the B46 it's a smooth, powerful and economical engine. 0-60mph in less than 6 seconds is more than enough for the average buyer of this car. If you need the 6cyl just order one.

I now went from 520i as my f10 to 530i in my g30 and i must day that IM a bit dissapointed with the extra power, though only drove 500km het so didnt really step on iT... though for Dutch roads even the 520i had plenty of power...

Which driving mode were you on? Theses cars really need to be in sport mode to feel alive.

I changed driving mode maybe twice on the f10, didn't change it on the g30 yet as I didn't put 1000km in the clock yet
