Sorry to bump an old thread, but just wanted to say thanks. Can't believe I didn't do this sooner. Took me only a few minutes to pop the springs out. I had just accepted the shitty headrest position for the last 2 years, but just this last weekend my wife was complaining about the uncomfortable head rest position on a long drive home from NC to ATL and so I looked it up.

It is noticeably more comfortable all the way down and un-tilted for me (like it's been in my past cars). I'm 5'9" and the inch gap was just annoying.
