No...there correct saying is "there is no such thing as an EX Marine"...therefore we say former Marine when we are no longer serving.

ack, all my former Marine friends have moved on to other areas, so I didn't consult them. Thanks for the correction and let me add Dammmittt to the Thanks List. I lift a glass to you all.

Wow, I apologize for starting such a ruckus in here. If being proud to serve my country, losing my only brother and many friends over the last 5 years to chase down the SOB's that killed thousands of innocent Americans to include children is offensive to some, then I am sorry. Perhaps we (US Military)should all come home and then we ALL could deal with the roadside bombs in say NYC, rather than the 1% of us Americans that have to deal with them here in Iraq/ Afghanistan?

Don't apologize! They just don't get it...and never will!

No, this means your parents bought it for you. Everybody else on here bought their own car, as far as I heave heard (please don't tell me you invested your allowance since age 8 and bought it yourself either) I guess be thankful you have nice parents and enjoy the car

Why would youg et a car at 13 anyway? You can't drive it at 13...

I'm assuming his dad bought it when he was 13 for himself and when he turned 16 his dad handed him the keys as a bday present.

Still very lucky to have parents that are nice enough to do that. Don't abuse their trust and drive it safely!

Speed Kills!! Unless you have a helmet, hans device, and a roll cage.

Anyways, lets try to keep this on topic guys, and can we not have the whole Iraq debate? Being a Canadian, I may not approve of the war, but soldiers are still there risking their lives and they should be respected for it (and yes, there are Canadian troops in Iraq too). I concur and will take out my frustrations on the politicians that chose to have this war. Not the soldiers who were sent to fight it.

lol, that must have been a while ago. That field is currently being used for genetic testing by Pioneer

Very cool photo, also a cool base to visit (pretty sure it is mostly a tourist attraction now )

Press Release:

The above-displayed photograph of a "human Statue of Liberty," formed by 18
000 posed soldiers, was taken in July 1918 at Camp Dodge, Iowa, as part of a
planned promotional campaign to sell war bonds during World War I

hahaha, this thread went from how old are you, to tell me how much money you make, to arguing over whether or not war is right. i could careless, i like the discussion, just find it funny.

btw, never apologize for "starting a ruckus". our service men and women are the reason we can sit back and enjoy these luxuries. you can disagree with the war, but its not the soldiers fault.

There was never any arguing about war! Only calling somebody out who was insulting a soldier for doing his job.

Damm proud of you and what you do for our country. As you know, there will always be a few who have no concept of the world around them. To restate an observation made by someone far more insightful then I: Our military is made up of individuals who, have written a blank check made payable to "The United States of America," for an amount of "up to, and including their life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today, who no longer understand that fact. Honor and courage!
