Rear Seat Entertainment

Does anyone know how to get movies to play outside of using actual discs. Really didn't care for the option but it was tied in. I do wish it had Netflix built in.

Yes, you can use an USB stick. Can also plug in roku or chromecast and get Netflix that way. Been discussed here:

Yes, would the HDMI work with an iPad? Have you tried that before? I have firestick and will try the above suggestion as well. Our original plan was to just mount iPads on the seats, but the dang thing came with it equipped already.

Yes it works great in my X7 with rear seat entertainment. You just need to buy the lightning/HDMI adapter cable from Apple.Plug it into the iPad and the HDMI outlet, which is where the rear center console is.Then go into the idrive menu and select HDMI for the rear seat entertainment. It will play all of the movies you have on your iPad.

Thanks! I was hoping so but apple is very weird with outside sources. So looks like I'll be headed to Best Buy. Still going to give my fire stick a shot too.
