Sunroof rattle
I noticed when I hit a a rough pothole, high-frequency broken pavement, there’s a slight rattle / clicking sound coming from the sunroof. Anybody else experienced that?

The weather has turned colder the last few days here in new england. some rattles are coming out to play, mostly from the rubber seals around doors. I also have the sunroof rattle, but it goes away on its own when everything warms up a bit.
All X7s have air suspension i think so not a difference maker here

Really? A 100K plus car and your having to deal with rattles right out of the gate? This gives me more pause on taking delivery of my new X7.
I decided to buy a new car because my 2013 Toyota Highlander developed a very similar rattle just like you're describing. However, I bought it new and it didn't start happening until after 6 years and 95K miles later. I will turn my new X7 back in via the lemon law if this becomes an issue. Rattles like these in a super quiet car drive me Batty! In any car for that matter. There is absolutely no reason you should be dealing with these kind of issues at this price point on a new vehicle. |

Just wanted to bump this thread for any similar issues and/or fixes. Mine is coming from the sunroof area but towards the interior lighting assembly.
Mind poking around the said lighting area and see if yours is squeaking? |

the rubber seals based off weather could be causing that. If its consistent whenever you go over the various road conditions, take your service rep with you so he can pin point the area and address the seal. Could be a easy fix. There could also be a wire from the various electrics in that area hitting something causing the rattle, also now that you are aware of it you are focused on it even more making the noise more prevalent which I agree is annoying! keep us posted on what your service rep says if you take it in, which I would recommend
