The lower window end is too low compared to the hood lines. looks kind of weird as a design element. can't imagine something classy with the windows so big and going that low in the side profile.

Agree. The X5 is kind of a dud for me. If they would Polestar the XC90, I'd be all over it.

Finally we have the X7 live on cam.
The F15 is somewhat of a disappointment after the very successful E70, the X line, hell the hole BMW lineup are pretty old these days.
The X3, X5 and the X7 are soon to be released, first up is the X3 by the summer next year, then the big boys are coming along.
The X7 looks very close to a GLS and the XC90, i guess thatīs the size target for the X7.
Iīm not sure what the X5 should be placed these days, hopefully itīs more sporty than the F15, it just feels so much bigger than the F25, and way less sporty and fun.
But the sound of the X7, is like the 7 series, but in SAV clothes, should be interesting.

Looks similar to my q7.. I like it. Finally a true 3 row BMW. Can't wait.

I really wish BMW put proportional tires/wheels on their X cars. They are way to small for the size of the car as if they are going for the Mexican low rider look.

I like that it's proportionally more like a GLS than Q7, but wish it looked more Range Rover elegant than Land Cruiser/LX 570 frumpy. Hopefully it's just the camo, and the new "sharper" BMW design language will come through and clean it up.

Looks like they're finally developing it after I attended a survey with a mock-up in the summer of 2014... It was a beauty and what they had planned for the interior was pretty futuristic (even if it was just framework outside and stickers inside)... I'm glad they reduced the size of the grille from that mock-up though; the kidneys were almost too long and distracting.

Curious to see the approach of that luxury version, kind of X7 M60i, once GLS will have a derived Maybach version...
Bentayga is the other rival...

The X7 will be BMW's first true 3-row 7-passenger SUV. BMW has said that it will not just be an extended wheelbase X5 and will have its own identity. As for size, the prototype seen here is clearly much larger than the X5, with a longer rear door and roofline. The large glass moonroof looks to be panoramic and the huge front grille takes on a vertically stretched orientation like that seen recently on the next gen X5 prototype.

As the flagship SUV in BMW's lineup, the X7 will also be offered in an even higher luxury version. "We will make a higher luxury version of it as well. So in the same way as you take a 7 Series and you bring in the Individual bespoke service as with Rolls Royce," said Ian Robertson previously. This ultra luxurious version is expected to debut after the standard X7.

The BMW X7 will be revealed in 2018 and compete directly with the Mercedes GLS Class, Audi Q7 and Range Rover. When it comes to market in 2019, the U.S. will get x40i, x40d, and x50i models, while the rest of the world will also get the x30i and x30d (source).
