Exclamation G07 E-Code EU/ROW Laser Headlight Retrofit...

Does anyone on here know if the EU/ROW variant of the laser headlights are plug and play? (Providing you already have laser.) If you do not have laser headlights would they be plug and play or would coding be involved to enable if LED headlight vehicles are converting to laser or is that not possible?

My guess is yes, but coding will definitely be required and additional hardware/modules may be required depending on how BMW built the X7 from the factory. You may want to check the DIY coding scene on the G05 X5 forums since there are more X5 owners on the road now compared to the X7 (but as you know the X5 & X7 are very similar from a coding and hardware perspective). However, the DIY G-series coding scene is still very young now, with the G05/G07 lagging behind the G30 crowd. The G-series coding knowledge database will only continue to grow now that more G-series cars are on the road.

That said, given the complexities of this type of retrofit and the current state of the G05/G07 coding scene, I recommend you reach out to some of the paid coders for insight into what is possible now. Two that come to mind with good reviews on the forums are:

1) Alpine Motorsports Alex@Alpine; http://www.alpinemss.com/

2) European Auto Source tom @ eas; https://europeanautosource.com/

It appears it can be done given the wiring and harnesses are the same.

That would be fantastic, as there are a few on ebay that are attainable. They only come as headlights not sure what else we would need to, are the ballasts the same, are there ballasts? Ebay guy told me I had to have the laser lights for me to be able to install the eu ones. He wasn't clear if the LED can be retrofitted.

Quick reply from my SA about this.

It's a plug N play provided certain packages are existent.

He escaped the question few times about which packages are those and simply closed it with I gave you enough intel, workout the rest. 🤦🏻*♂️
