Which spec would you take.

So things have changed since I originally posted. These three cars are the same monthly for me. Will I miss luxury seats? Is the 50i a better trade off given the MPG? I put two car seats in the middle, will it be hard to use third without captains, I know it’s not really a walk through.

I would go with option 1 out of the two options provided but don't settle. If you are person who stays in your car for a while get exactly what you want. Waiting for the right vehicle seems lengthy but being in the wrong vehicle feels like forever.

I've had shades before and they were useful but certainly not a need. Never had soft close but seems like we always will slam doors anyways. I'm looking at left over 19s so not much choice, more looking for deals.

The extended Merino alone would make option one more desirable over the other in addition the colorway but based on your post above it sounds like you already know which you would prefer just looking for someone to second the motion.

Surprisingly I really was looking for a vehicle that had the premium package, but the extended leather really has me thinking and also the color combo.

My kids don't use the sunshades often (other than when they want to press the buttons), the tint is pretty dark. Also, the shades are only in the second row, not third... not sure why, they have some big windows back there.

The soft close doors are nice younger kids that are big enough to pull the door closed on their own, but not big enough to close it hard enough. Sometimes our 7 y/o won't quite get it all the way, and I'd have to get out of the car to correct it otherwise. I would say they're a bit of a crutch for adults, though. I often don't close the door on the first try in other cars now.

Merino is nice, but I could go either way. The multi-contour seats are what's most important to me, and these both have them.

I would say when I went from my F16 X6 which had the full leather design package to my F15 X5 without, I regretted it. It was largely due to not having the multi-contour seats, though, I couldn't stand driving the thing because I couldn't get as comfortable. I actually paid a small fortune to get out of my X5 lease early and into the X7 because of how much I didn't like to drive the F15.

The dash and other missing leather trim pieces also bothered me, but there was a greater delta there in the F series, especially when coming from full leather. For the X7, I believe the only difference in vernasca and extended merino in terms of the amount of leather, is the extra trim piece on the sides of the center console, right? The textured leather is not as supple, but pretty bulletproof. If it's just the type of leather, than it's certainly just personal preference.

Full disclosure, I have full merino leather on both cars and likely won't turn back. This is mainly because of the "full" part of it. The lower dash and other elements being wrapped in leather make a pretty big difference.

If I ordered the Merino leather seats + leather dash, where else would I see leather with the full leather option ($3,700)?

Lower dash (so around the preset buttons, lighting buttons, glove box), lower door panels (below the armrest/door pocket, true for the back as well), and the alcantara headliner. The lower dash is what I notice the most since it's between the two pieces of wood trim and right above the cup holders.

Soft close doors and sun shades are awesome especially with small kids. How many times a kid has been asleep and we didn’t have to wake them when closing the door...

And I use gestures all the time, specifically for volume.

Arctic Grey is an amazing color, its a limited edition and looks fantastic.

Running Boards are a must-have, especially if you have small kids or plan to use a cargo box for long trips.

Steel wheels + aluminum door trim + aluminum boomerangs + aluminum running boards is just the right amount of bling against the aluminum grille.

Black paint and black wheels? Why make such a splendid luxury car look so pedestrian? Grab the Arctic before someone else does.

Thanks. Unfortunately the grey one is out of the running now.

New set of choices. Need to decide by tomorrow!

Any advice regarding 50i vs 40i and luxury vs non luxury. I wanted massage but the 50i is so tempting.

Why are you limited to these? Why not get exactly what you want?

(50i is a no brainer. This twin turbo v8 is out of this world).

Because I’m getting very aggressive discounts and it is much better on in stock units especially 2019s. I want to have cake and eat it but when you shop like I do you gotta take what you can get. Easier on the wallet.

I'm not sure what kind of discounts you're being offered, but if you're interested in ordering and getting exactly what you want, there are very aggressive deals out there. If you look around this forum, you'll see many people getting 10-13% off MSRP w/ base MF on orders (40i and M50i). I just ordered an M50i. Good luck!

14% off MSRP on 50i 2019 though which has 4750 in incentives for lease, base MF. I also have a trade in and they gave me the most for that as well.

The 40i has tons of power. Luxury Package isn't important.

Captains Chairs and Cold Weather Package.....those are the two most important options.

I fell in love with the massage but I guess it not needed. Went back and forth on the 2nd row because I put two child seats back there. At the end of the day got to go with what I can get

I'd go with the mostly loaded.

Since as it seems it's going to be the family car and 40i has decent power.

cast a wider net, yield more results. i understand you're shopping leftovers but i can put you in touch with a few people that may be able to assist, especially in your neck of the woods.
