Bimmercode - What have you coded for your BMW X7?

I will be taking delivery on a fairly loaded 2020 BMW X7 40i at the end of the month. This will be the first time I've bought a BMW.

I have watched some YouTube videos about coding by using the Bimmercode app.

I am wondering which features some of you have coded for your BMW X7?

Some thoughts:
-- Startup M Performance animation
-- Disable warning at startup
-- Brighter angel eyes (25% standard, raise to 100%)
-- Folding Mirrors when the vehicle is locked
-- One-touch turn signal 5 times
-- Display full-text messages
-- Close tailgate with long-press remote
-- Brakes flash 3x when applied (Is this legal in the U.S.?)

Some of these might not be available for the X7. I would imagine others might already be programmed? ie. Aren't the mirrors already programmed to fold in a $95,000 vehicle?

I realize that all vehicles will have different options that need coded. Some vehicles you can code the back hatch. Others you cannot. I haven't found a definitive video about coding options for the X7. Post if you know of one.

Any suggestions about what to code would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I think this can be done without Bimmercode App.

Mirror folding on lock does not need to be coded - mine currently does - this is for an older version of iDrive but I think the menu path is the same:

Defeating the Start/Stop feature to default to last setting was a must for me.

Guys, when you get your X7's, check for the option to change some of the common coded functionality listed above. From what I have seen, BMW does appear to actually "listen" to the BMW enthusiast crowd when it comes to some of these options so coding may not be necessary in the newer iDrive 7 BMWs like the X7. You may have to dig deeper into the owners manual, but based on reports from other X7 owners, there are several little adjustability "nuggets" in the system from the factory that have been found. Several of the most commonly coded options on older BMWs come standard from the factory now.

That said, some features will always require coding to change, usually due to some legality issue or DOT compliance issue here in the US. Removing the legal disclaimers upon engine start is an example...

Here's one Youtube on it, and I'm sure the BMW Genius or salesperson at your dealer can explain how it works. I find it annoying, yet some people don't seem to be annoyed with it.

First thing I did was code VIM.

Set auto start/stop to remember last setting
lower the lock/unlock sound
M Boot Logo

I don't believe you can do remote trunk close. I hope it will be possible down the road. This is my second most wanted after VIM. Many MFG provide this as an option, don't know why BMW doesn't do it.

I coded the same as above plus disabled all warnings and enabled 5 blink turn signal option. I would also like to code the tailgate when it becomes available and default drive mode to adaptive.

BimmerCode doesn't allow you to code close trunk via KeyFob?

I have just remotely coded 2 or 3 G07 X7 for that feature in the past week.

It was one of the function that I have coded for my local customer almost a year ago.

It may be able to code that function, but just not using one of the pre-programmed codable functions that the app programmer has put into the app. BimmerCode has an "Expert Mode" that allows access to all of the codable parameters inside a given ECU. If you know which parameters you are looking for and what needs to be changed to get the functionality you want, BimmerCode can be a very easy, yet powerful coding tool. Most BimmerCode users don't use Expert Mode since you can really mess up things if you don't know what you are doing.

BimmerCode does not have access to all of the X7 ECUs yet so the use of the Expert Mode is still a bit limited. But the app developer is good about adding new ECU functionality to the app, and I would speculate that the app has access to the ECU needed to code the trunk/key fob functionality mentioned (but can't verify since I don't own an X7).

Oh yes. I am very aware about the Expert mode.
But, why the developers doesn't have it under normal mode since they are already able to enable the one via door button?

Don't have a good answer for that one. However, I have had BimmerCode for a few years now - got it back when the app was sub $10, and I love the app. The app developer has been very supportive and responsive to the BMW coding community. But I know the subtle differences between the different models and the differences between F-series to G-series cars can make software implementation challenging - and I am not a software coder/engineer. Just need to give it some time. IMO BimmerCode is the most versatile coding tool, with the exception of E-sys, especially because of Expert Mode - and it is very user friendly as well (especially Expert Mode).

Has anyone in here coded the (ADV) Assisted Driving View feature on a 2019 equipped with AU and AR? If so, will you please share lines needed to enable such feature. Thanks.

Overall, I am fairly disappointed with how few features can be coded in the X7 in Bimmercode.

Unless there are far more coding features in 'expert mode'.

Does anyone have a list?

If you don't want to wait, my recommendation would be to check the G05 (X5) and G20 (3-series) DIY/Coding forums for the "raw" coding parameters for different features you may be interested in. The G05 and G20 have iDrive 7 and share several of the same ECUs/modules with the G07 (X7). However, standard warnings apply when changing parameters using Expert mode. It is not hard to use Expert mode, but it is definitely easier to mess things up if you don't pay attention (i.e. Expert mode is less "idiot proof")

Has anybody tried to figure out if you can code the air suspension? The adjustment in the car won't allow you to access the lowest setting unless you're parked. There must be a way to allow that ride height while driving. That would be easier than adjustable lowering links which I also can't seem to find.
