Yes, I meant GLS - Sorry about that.
I have sat in the GLS and it felt smaller overall to me. The main point everyone talks about is the 3rd row. If you don't use the 3rd row, hands down the X7, but I believe the GLS 3rd row is a bit better compared to the X7.

As for the GSF Suspension, I only lowered it, the stock suspension w/ the adjustable dampeners were really good and I did not want to mess with that.

I hated my GSF though, it was just so damn slow... At that time, I should have picked up a low mileage ISF where there is more modification opportunities.

Hope that helps!

Did you mean GLS? My father in law is considering one and I am curious how it compares size-wise to the GLS. Being larger than the GLE should be a given. I think even our X5 is larger than the GLE.

Also, did you do any suspension work on the GS-F? I've been considering picking up a lightly used one but it seems a bit too pedestrian in the handling department.

Thanks! The suspension is stock AIR so we just modified the lowering links to trick the car on the height. I can still use the level adjustments in the car without any issues to make it higher or lower.

Now that I've owned it for some time, I think I will stick with the X7 SUV for a while unless the design changes for the worse. The convenience, space, comfort, and luxury that it provides cannot be matched even by most sedans.

Amazing! Random question but why do people blur out the tire brand on this types of shoots? Not sponsored by a tire company or something along those lines?

Wasn't intentional.. Just the way the photo came out based on the lighting and such.

If you wanted to know, they are Continentals.

Back when I had a Range Rover Sport Autobiography, lowering it was a major concession that made it untenable for extended use.

Lowering links were the cheap or ghetto way to go seriously compromising ride quality beating on the air suspension since they were never designed to ride at anything but stock height.

Lowering modules were a little less intrusive since all software trickery, but I ran into random faults.

How viable is it these days to find a proper lowered height with bigger wheels in BMW SUV land? Hoping it's not the same as LR world.

OP took picture with it at new loading height.
Normal condition, it is at stock original loading height or lowest setting on air suspension.
It is shown in the 3rd picture.

Also, the car is coded to start at sport individual with only suspension setting that is on sport mode.
This way, the dampening will compensate the lack of air in the bag.

Lastly, the air suspension that BMW uses since G-chassis is the newer technology, unlike the previous version that BMW uses in E7x and F15/F16 X5/X6, F85/F86 X5M/X6M where the rides becomes really bouncy when you go lower more than 1".
The funny part, other European manufacturers has been using this type of Air Suspension for the longest time.
I believe it is as early as MY2000 Mercedes Benz S-Class.

Ideally, yes, you go with lowering module.
But, they are being sold at $1000 or more.
I bet you it does the same thing just by intercepting the signal from the leveling sensor to the suspension module, just in very complicated way.

I hope I able to address your concern.

Are you comparing X7 to the new body GLS? Just curious as to what's being compared?

Yes - the new body GLS.
I also think the X7 looks a LOT better than the GLS even with the enlarged Grills.

Nice Build Boss‼️

Not sure what they're talking about the tire brand is clear as day, the rest is the sidewall design of the tire.

Good info - appreciate the details especially coming from a SoCal vendor.

Sounds like they're still charging an arm and leg for lowering modules. Iirc it was around $1500 for the RRS back in 2011 $s! It worked fine until it threw codes. It's when you own sht and use it on a recurring basis the realness happens. Couldn't stand it so sold the 2 ton heap.

My friend's S-Class air suspension was a major pos and costly to replace. I hope it's less of a pain in 2020 car tech!

Thank you. I'll look you up if I venture your way.
