Radiator Reservoir Seal Recall

Hey everyone, I took my 2019 X7 50 in for its first oil change 2 weeks ago and was told of a recall with the radiator reservoir seal. I then got a call saying that they need a part, and the they’ve determined my vehicle was unsafe to drive. The thing is this part is not in stock anywhere in the entire world and they need to wait for it to be produced. It’s been two weeks and the update today was there’s still no ETA on the part..

Good news is I have a good dealer and they have a X7 50 fully loaded like mine (only missing sport pkg), so I’ve been driving that, but now I’m getting worried that this could go on for a while.

Has anyone else had to deal with this recall??

Odd, it seems like they would stop selling them nationwide if it were unsafe and there were no parts available.

Well, I don’t think the recall is that all X7s are not safe, I believe it was just a seal for the recall. I think for mine they found something when they were taking it apart.

Agreed--odd, that they told you of a recall, but then said you need an unavailable part that you're unsafe to drive. Think it might be that as they took apart the car to perform the recall, they came across a semi-unrelated part that was the damaged one.

I wouldn't think this is widespread.

Maybe the part is made in Wuhan, China.
