I just got my 2024. I see there’s a warning triangle compartment in the rear hatch. I opened it and it is empty.

Dealer says cars in the US don’t come with it. Only in Europe.

Is this true?

yup, not included with US spec cars. you can order it, p/n is 71-60-6-770-487. about 20 bucks.
also US spec cars do not have the first aid kit.

Ditto…this has been around since I can remember from the late 1970s/early 1980s. The warning triangle does NOT meet the US DOT regulations for sturdiness. The turbulence from a semi driving past it can knock it over…thus it it removed from US market BMWs.

When there was Euro delivery…you could remove the triangle from the trunk and pack it in your luggage to bring back home to the States before the car was returned to the port to be loaded up on the ship. Not sure if they even put it in the vehicle if it is built at the So Carolina plant.

FYI…you’re probably also missing the first aid kit, too.

Some dealers might add it (same with wheel locks.)

My dealer was including wheel locks, first aid kit, permaplate, interior protector, etc as part of the mandatory protection package for 2500 at the height of markups- they were doing that instead of adm markups since their parents company forbade it. I was a returning customer so I wasn't forced to buy into it.

So did ours, it was placed in the rear at the factory and is on the window sticker. For cars coming from Germany they place these in at the port.
