They are very different tires with the Cups being a quasi-race tire that is really not suited for a daily driver because of its short life and the fact that is very bad in the rain. The sports are now the top of the line in performance street tire from Michelin suitable for daily drivers and ocasional track work.

The cups are a basically a DOT R-Compound and they come standard on the Porsche GT2 and GT3. They are amazing in the dry but in the wet they are horrible. The tread life is terrible as they will be bald in less than 5k miles on the street. If you are going to use the cups as your track set that is fine.
I would choose the Michelin Super Sports as a daily driving wheel that can handle light track work. It is newer technology stemming from the renowned PS2 as the super sport has increase tire life while keeping the comfort levels the same and grip levels within proximity of each other. |
