This is interesting. I remember G12 has comfort plus mode, which use the cameras to scan the road ahead. Wondering if this is the same mode, since we have the cameras as well, when DHP is optioned.

I am very interested in whether the coding has an effect on the actual drive, assuming BMW programed the vehicle for Comfort Plus and just did not release it with the feature.

Test driving the X7 I was shocked to find out there was no Comfort Plus mode. In my 750i, it makes quite a difference. That being said, I do not drive around in Comfort Plus unless the roads are bad or I have certain people (or my dogs) in the car.

I definitely noticed a different in Sport Plus. Bit snappier of the line and accelerating to pass on the highway.

Haven't thoroughly tested comfort plus yet.

I coded Comfort Plus on both, my X7 and X7… But I wish I can understand what difference it makes… it is hard to tell because these cars are way to comfortable already…. I want to understand what Comfort Plus does technically or how this mode operates.

Does your BMW have an adaptive suspension? If not, then Comfort Plus mode doesn’t really have much to work with.

On the BMWs that are offered Comfort Plus mode…they have an adaptive suspension…which can soften the damping parameters on the chassis (suspension) as well as have a slightly different mapping for the drivetrain (engine & tranny).

Again, if you don’t have electronic dampers (adaptive suspension), adding Comfort Plus requires a certain sensitivity/intuitiveness to feel any additional changes by adding this feature because it can’t make any changes to a standard non-adaptive suspension/chassis.
