Seriously. Hasn't anyone put dynamat under the drivers/passenger seat subs yet?

Too much talk about treating the symptom (rattling skirt) and not the cause (vibrations permeating from subs through frame).

3351 M Sport side skirt rattles

I have the same car.....'15 335i M Sport with Harman Kardon system. Noticed the skirts rattling when the volume was around half, more so on the driver's side. Took it to the dealer and they said it needed new mounts. Picked the car up and didn't think I needed to check if the rattle was fixed. It wasn't! Took it back a couple days later and they called and said they fixed it this time. Picked it up today and guess what? Still rattles. They say there's nothing else they can do. Really? I don't think so Tim! I will be sharing the info I learned here with them since they apparently aren't qualified to find the cause of the rattle on their own. That's disappointing.

I had the same problem, thing is after a while the noise was so loud you could hear it from the inside aswell. The solution is simple but you might need new bindings, since they are likely to break once you remove the skirt and place some soft-side velcro strips through 4 or 3 points on each side where the skirt touches the chassis ( identify and mark these spots by pushing on random places while playing music )

Btw dealer did it for free but had to order the bindings in advance, took them 3 weeks to get here.

I can tell you right now it solves 95% of the rattle caused by the base, and the bass actually sounds so much punchier now.
This is the right answer.... I had the same problem... I brought it to my dealer who is normally very good and the shop foreman said there was nothing he can do... I then brought it to my aftermarket fancy pancy guy and he did felt strips on the clips and other spots of contact between the skirts for 2 hours of work... good luck man! I'm like u where I love bass and hate rattling

I have the same problem. When I told the side skirt down by hand, no rattle. I do notice that my driver's side where the rattle comes from the back of the skirt is loose compared to passenger's side which is firmly attached. I think it I could get underneath at tighten the screws that that might help. Putting something underneath to lessen the rattle will just make it thicker and closer to bottom of the door.

You can sound deaden the bottom of the enclosure but this will not decrease the vibration on the outside skirts.
