Factory redline is conservative. See it every time I drive the car.

If you want to really italian tune the car you'll see better results taking a long cruise at 70 mph in 4th gear. Hard acceleration once in a blue moon (or once a week) really doesn't do much.

I'm doing it on every freeway on-ramp traffic permitting, am I doing it right?

Wait...that’s a faux pas?? So why did she install the drapes so close to the door then?!

But you guys are right...anyway if you beat on a lease it will probably break down while you have it, so it’s still your problem.

LOL - Yeah, so then why are they right next to the bed, on the side where I dismount? Surely they're not just ornamental, right?

I find it easier to hit red line on a frequent basis it's low (<7k rpms). On our Tucson, I hit red line every 6 months or so. The 392 in the Jeep loves to rev and feels like it could use 1k-2k more rpm until redline, so when I drive that one aggressively, I always hit red line at least once. The 8lbs flywheel, combined with a centrifugal supercharger results in the tach needle bouncing against red line in the VR6 corrado on a very frequent basis. Then there's the M3. That car will easily hit the 8k+ red line, but you have to be a bit more dedicated. It's real easy to short shift at 6k rpms and still have fun.

I'm of the opinion that ICE-powered cars should hit red line once every few months to keep everything running well. I think this is particularly true of German performance cars.

I hit redline and 120mph first week I got my car with less than 100 miles on it. Just don't do it when the motor is cold. As far as I'm concerned the car is broken in as soon as you get it.

Be nice!

Sometimes Subarus are unfairly dubbed agrarian machines. While that might be true many years ago, today Subaru has some neat cars like the WRX and STi.

Wrx and wrx sti were neat cars when Subarus were dubbed agrarian machines, now they are pretty overhyped and dont stand out too much as performance machines. Not enough power, engine in front of the front axles like Audis, and need engines opened and upgraded to get any serious power. Used prices are horrendous as well.
