Exclamation Tinting Front Windows...

I am looking at matching the front windows to the rear. Given the additional light from the windshield I am considering 15% front to match the rears. Anyone on here photos and specs on theirs? What is a perfect match for the front/rear windows?

I did 50% windshield and 30% front side windows.

The match also depends on if you have the sun screens up in the back windows or not. When they are up the back looks a lot darker

i am going for match with plain jane rear windows with the windshield offset without shades being up or any other variable. just window for window. guessing 15% would get the job done but curious what others have done so i may dial it in properly.

Thank you! I am leaning towards 15% Ceramic for the front and the rest is going to remain factory glazing. I believe 20% is the perfect match but with the light from the windshield it is going to look like a different color.

I went for 40% on the driver and passenger windows and 60% on the rest. Windscreen also 40% as is the rear. Night time visibility is fine, although find myself lowering the windows at night when reversing....just to be sure.

looks pretty damn dark for 40% but i guess that is because the windshield is tinted too reducing light in the cabin overall. looks sharp. i dig it.

So guys which brand do you go with?

Any issues with ceramic films you've used and "low angle haze"?

llumar ceramic tint 15%. about as close to the factory match as possible from the films offered to me. looking outward from inside the color is nearly identical as well. no issues with LAH; typically that is with cheap generic films. 3M did not have the percentage I wanted, crystaline does not go that low the only other option that came close to matching was SunTek but their 20% metered in at 24 and their 15% was 18.

Looks crisp.

The Interesting part is that I had LAH in an XC90 MY19 with Solargard, wincos aka madico and 3M crystalline and other lines. I've basically tried about 6 different products on that vehicle until I finally settled on a hybrid ceramic against my better judgment which has excellent visibility but an ok heat rejection

Hence my inquiry now.

Thank you. I didn't tint the windows on the XC90 but perhaps the angle of window or the curvature of the pane itself was creating this effect. Crystalline is one of the best films you can install. If you were having issues with that or similar then it leads me to believe it was what you were applying it on and not so much the film itself.

Unrelated but your name looks familiar. Were you on SwedeSpeed?

Then you're most probably right.
I never had an issue with these brands until used on an XC90 and I've always tinted my vehicles

As for SwedeSpeed yes It's me.

Are there benefits other than cosmetic? I see a response above regarding heat/sun management. I believe I saw in another post (not sure if it was this forum or another) somebody putting a ceramic tint on their sunroof and finding a noise reduction.

I would be very interested if there was a product that really improved sound insulation and heat management.

If you do the entire car and the front windshield you will have a heat reduction. I did it on my Tesla and it was night and day in FL.

My objective is purely aesthetic since our vehicles are always garaged there aren't many other benefits however if you tint the front windows and the windshield you will mitigate a great deal of heat. You do not have to go dark on the windshield you can use a film that is nearly clear but will reduce heat and UV. Crystalline is the best for this (IMO).

I went with Photosync as it is the newest of all the films on the market. I had 3M Crystalline before and did not like the brownish look on it. This is what I have, which is the highes heat blocking product out there:

http://prestige-films.com/spectra-photosync/

I have it on all of my windows incl the skylounge glass roof. Very happy with it

Any reputable shop will perform a test sheet if you want to see what it looks like before completing the entire job. If you are uncertain or want to confirm before installing that would be the best approach in my opinion.

Totally agree with you there.

That's what I did with the XC.

I simply wanna narrow down the products to test. It was a pain with that Volvo.

Understood. I wasn't sure if you did that or had to pay for new lamination each time.
Wanted to share that with you or anyone on here so they may avoid unnecessary expenses or headaches.
