Any chance there's a pic of you in the third row of an F15 X5 floating around for comparison?

Lexus LX is showing its age and has become a collection of contradictions: ancient yet reliable V8, modern 8 speed transmission, museum quality infotainment, vague steering, and lumbering ride. Original body on frame construction and off road capability inherited from Land Cruiser are still big attractions.

Ignoring the grills for a moment, X7 is leaps beyond LX.

Here's the X7 next to a Lexus LX for size reference.
Can you confirm if the factory roof rail delete option is available for the X7? I personally don't need the roof rails and honestly can't stand them and from what I've read, they are a pain to remove (though it can be done). I know the factory roof rail delete option was available on the F15 X5 and I think I remember seeing a few pics of prototype X7 that didn't have the roof rails.

No. You are not the only one. The X7 grill is very appropriate for the size of this full size SUV. The design philosophy for this car is "Be Bold or be gone". The X7 will surely be a big money maker for BMW USA.

Not sure, I was able to but I have a few friends at the dealership. I know they can't sell it though.

Gls Looks as ugly and boring as the current one.

To me The x7 looks a lot more modern.

the space back there is a hair tighter than the GLS in every dimension but practically speaking it feels about the same. that being said, you can move up the second row to make more room

inside arm rests of second row captains chairs are not removable, fyi.

How does it compare to the new x5?

I feel like my new x5 has less rear legroom than my 2016 X5 with the reclining seats (comfort seat package)

Second row leg and shoulder room identical if I’m not mistaken.

The legroom across all rows is noticeably tighter than my GLS. Roughly 4” if you add up all the rows. I’ll make it work cause I like the captains, the interior and the exterior

Interesting, any idea how the interior size compares to the original GL450.I have a 2010 GL450.

I read somewhere that the new GLS
is going to be even larger than the current GLS.

For whatever reason, the new GLE dimensions are unavailable. It's kind of mind boggling, to be honest. The only thing I can find is that the second row has 2.7" more legroom. That's it. If we knew more about the GLE, we could take some guesses about the next GLS.

Anyhow, here's a snapshot of:

2010 ML vs GL dimensions
2017 GLE vs GLS
Evolution of ML dimensions from 2010 to 2017 to 2020 models
Evolution of GL/GLS dimensions from 2010 to 2017 models
2019 X5 vs X7
2019 X7 vs 2019 GLS

dug up official info on 2020 GLE. was buried in the depths of hte interwebs. updated comparisons to include a GLE vs X5 current gen comparison.

you can see the GLE has grown quite a bit inside. a reasonable assumption is that the GLS will, as well.

Thanks,i am surprised that even my GL has more legroom than the X7.Also the current GLS isn’t much bigger than my GL.Not that big of a deal.I’m not interested in getting the new GLS anyway.I don’t like the new gauge cluster and interior design in the new GLE.The interior is so much nicer in the X7 and BMW does a much better job in the handling department.

My GL has been nothing but horrendous quality and doesn’t age well. Plastic stuff just falls apart.
