Which Brand for CERAMIC Pads: X5M Competition
Hey guys. I've ran Akebono on several cars of mine and really enjoyed them!
I can't seem to find them for my X5M Comp / G05 What other brands are available for high quality Ceramic pads? All of this brake dust is unacceptable. |

No, I'm in your shoes, looking at options. I'm scheduled for ceramic early next week and after that I'm going to look in on the pads. The isweeps seem to be popular here, with many installations, and nary a bad word; makes them a pretty likely buy for me.

Hopefully they're offered for the X5M, but I've put Hawk Performance Ceramic pads on my F80 and my Cayenne. They're as close to zero dust as you could even dream of, and they have really nice pedal feel and cold weather performance (something that was quite important in the PNW). Much better feeling pad than the Akebonos that I've used before. They're on the spendy side, but absolutely worthwhile in my opinion.

I went with the iSweep even though they are considerably more expensive than anything else offered. I haven't gotten around to install yet. Should be early next week. I will definitely report back. These stock pads are FOKING ridiculous! Literally a few stops and go for a couple of hours result in dark rust colored dust caking. |

Ive been busy but I've got to get on this one. Washed my car this morning, half hour of driving, wheels dusted. That's the middle of the city, slowly going through traffic, not lapping at the track. I'm mean jeez...
