Only about $91,000 for a 40i build for me. Better than I expected but still not what I'd hoped for considering the minimal second row leg room improvement over the new X5. Roughly 10K more than an equivalently optioned X5 (minus the laserlights of course). Will need to see how it drives before committing.

Is it just me or are the wheel options too busy, or they just compensating for the busy looking X7?

I really like the Dynamic Handling Package (DHP) ride comfort on the F15 X5 but it looks like M Sport Differential and M Sport Brakes won't add to that. (Maybe Integral Active Steering may help but that wasn't available later on for the F15).
-Wonder what's "2VS Active Comfort Drive with Road Preview"? Is that like Benz's magic carpet ride?
-So now the full air suspension (front and rear) will get rid of the need of active sway bar servos?
-Is the M Sport Differential the same concept as the torque vectoring differential on the F15 or just a limited slip differential?

Maybe the DHP package isn't that necessary now.

I'm not too knotted up about that because I think it's intended to give buyers a choice, not just gouge them for another $1,450. Let's face it, there are people who don't purchase or use leather products and people who would appreciate the durability of Sensatec when they've got 3 or more kids who are going to be trashing the interior.

For the wifey car looks I could get out the door for less than 90k... just don't let me drive the 50i or I'll convince myself to go with the bigger motor.

Also crazy that to add dynamic handling pack to a 50i after you are forced to add M sport totals $8,300. That is steep. Given the almost $19k stepup from 40i to 50i you'd think the handling stuff would be included.

Glad I'm coming from a landrover LR4, the single worst handling vehicle I've ever owned. makes the X7 with none of these upgrades still a big upgrade in that category

pricing isn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be.
I mean for around $78,000 you can get a damn nice X7 which is only $5,000 more than my 2016 X6 stickered for and this thing is larger with a third row as standard and better engine (quicker according to estimates).

even adding on some other options I would probably get it to $83,000 which again is a ton of money but right where it should be against competition.

having said all that I still can't see spending $20,000 more than my Volvo XC90 cost, I'll save that cash for my next M
wife was on board with that thinking too

Xc90 is the perfect wifey car. Wifey don't care about driving dynamics and everything else on the Volvo is better or good enough.

This is coming at the perfect time, we were looking to maybe get a Navigator when we trade in the X5, the interior on the new Nav is amazing. But this thing is priced right on.

Did I read this right, you cant get the Executive Package on the 4.0?

You can get the roof and glass controls individually, but not the laser headlights.

Hello! I have two questions and I sense that the right people are on this wonderful forum:

1) Understand that 6UK Night Vision with Pedestrian Detection will be available from April 2019. Anyone knows if it will be possible to retro-fit on vehicles made in March?
2) I want a wagon that is optimized for slippery winter roads (snow and ice in combination) and I wonder if the 2VH Integral Active Steering will make things better or not? (in Europe it is only sold together with rather pricey 2VS Executive Drive Pro and I THINK that this is more of a 'limousine option' that gives a smooth ride but doesn't add road holding).

Thanks in advance!

Regards, Per

Thanks, that sucks. Although our LED lights now are fine.

Highly unlikely you can easily retrofit the night vision. I'm sure it could be done with enough labor and the right parts (plus coding the ECU) but it will probably wind up costing you big bucks. If it is important to you, I would wait and just build one from the factory with it.

The Integral Active Steering is the 4-wheel steering option. I.e. the rear wheels steer in the opposite direction of the fronts at low speeds to decrease the turning radius of the vehicle. At higher speeds, the rear wheels turn in the same direction as the fronts to increase stability - at highway speeds the vehicle will feel more stable and seem to glide when doing lane changes. From a physics perspective, it is the equivalent of shortening or lengthening the wheelbase. From a snow/ice driving perspective, I don't see how it would offer any benefit.
