iDrive 7 New Release - 11/2023.25

Alright, I installed the update and everything went well. Drove around my neighborhood and didn't notice any issues. When I parked the car and shut down the engine, the car showed that all doors, trunk and hood were open. Driving a bit more didn't help. But then I locked the car for a couple minutes, unlocked it and the issue was gone.

And BTW, I got version 11/2023.50

Just got the push notification for the 11/2023.50. What changes have been noticed by others who have already done this upgrade on the pre-LCI models? I’m worried to upgrade and somehow lose features that I had etc.

I haven't noticed any significant changes, but I only drove the car for 15 minutes only after the upgrade.

I have a 2021 m50 running on ver. 03/2023.53. I just got an OTA messaging indicating prepaation for upgrade to 11/2023.50 is complete.

Is this a required upgrade or can I choose not to install it?

You can skip it. There is an option to do it in the menu.
But keep in mind that a dealer can potentially install it next time you service your car.

Got it, will look for this option. Just don't want to deal with re-coding bimmmercode etc. Thanks

Going to skip it as well. I don't want to lose my Bimmercode settings or my Anti-Dazzle headlight coding. Can't be much that has changed.

My app says 11/2023.50 is ready to install and to follow the prompts on the car.

The car says preparation is complete. But doesn't prompt me to start the install like it has in the past.
Anyone else seen this where it says it's ready for install in the app, says the preparation is complete in the car, but doesn't prompt to start the install?

Is your battery charged? I remember seeing messages on this forum that a drained battery was preventing software updates.

Yup fully charged. Even had it hooked up to a battery charger for 24 hours. Charger shows battery was full.

My X7 got bricked and had to have it towed to the dealership from failed update. And it was in an open area with a good battery.

Same happened to my X7 last December when the dealer tried to install a software update. Never again. I will run the car without any updates for as long as I can.

For what it's worth, I was mistaken about the DME not being updated. I had checked to see if my ECU was re-locked; which it wasn't. But after driving, it became obvious that my tune was overwritten.

So this update is likely applying updates to the engine software.

Just did the update and wondering if anyone having issues with the rear camera views?

I’m seeing a solid black line in the middle trunk screen and then the positioning of the car is off centered from the bird’s eye view.

Apologies if this was discussed but how do I turn off auto updates? Is this option only availble via BMW app on your phone or in the car?

Last year I had to get a new battery because OTA update was stuck while installing and killing my battery. Luckily dealer covered it under warranty.

I have done on mine but don’t remember. I think it is some sort of privacy settings under settings.

We never even got an OTA update the first time. Took it to the dealer, complained, and they found a "one time head unit fault" so did the upgrade for us. I wonder if we still have an issue that is now preventing this upgrade.
