Code Reader

I am trying to read codes from my car. 2 questions.

1. If i use a regular obdii code reader what will happen?

2. Where can I buy the BMW code reader in store? I know I can buy it online but I need it today.

Thanks. I have e92 335i.

If you're stock... get a Cobb AP. It's a code reader that gives power.

Gotcha. I don't know about the code reading (AutoZone does free readings), but for programing, look here. It'll tell you where to get the cable, and where to download and how to use the software. If you like, I'll sell you my cable since I don't use it.

If you're looking for a complete and user friendly solution (minus the option to code) get the Bavarian Technic Cable.

http://www.bavariantechnic.com/

Complete diagnostics and easy to use without the learning curve.
