Sport Displays in HUD Not Activating in Sport Mode
I have a 2020 X7 with software version 7/2020.25. While I was going through the settings menu for the HUD, there was an option to choose when the sport displays would show up on the HUD. the options are "Off", "In SPORT Mode" (they would show up in the HUD when you put the vehicle in SPORT Mode), and "Always". When you set it to "Always", the sport displays shoe up in the HUD with no issues. The issue I am having is that when you set it to "In SPORT Mode", and put the car in SPORT mode, the Sport Displays don NOT show up in the HUD. I went to the dealer and we checked another X7 (I believe this vehicle had software version 3/2020.xx) and the feature worked as it showed and the SPORT Displays showed in the HUD when they were set to "In SPORT Mode" and the vehicle was put in SPORT Mode. Spoke to the service manager and he have no clue why this is happening or how to fix it. They have an email into BMW NA to see what can be done.
Anyone with software version 7/2020.25 have the same issue? What is causing it? How were you able to resolve it, if you did? Is there another setting that is causing this issues? |

No clue what the reason is but that's certainly not normal. I know for sure that when I press the SPORT-button next to the shifter, my HUD changes (showing a horizontal bar) and when I go back to COMFORT, it changes back.

I have the same issue exactly along with some other things.
I'm on a different iDrive software. Do you have anything coded like themes or anything ? For me personally in believe it's a coding issue with Bimmercode and my setup. Let's us know how you fix it please. Personally I think an iDrive update should fix it.

I waiting on my dealer's service manager to get back to me. I will keep you posted. I might try to restore it from a back up on BimmerCode and see if that fixes the problem. |

Since you have coded only one thing, That might actually be it and if it works, then you've saved me a ton of trouble. Cause that's what I'm doing diagnostic by elimination, one my one.

I have to code it for video in motion. So if that is the cause, I will suck it up and live without it. |

I removed the video on motion. Didn't give with me. So I went ahead and restored all. I'm waiting for the next iDrive software 07.2020.xx then will recode everything from there and create a restore point at the date. My plan is one item to code per 24hrs to find out which one is causing what. I had other issues including lags in loading Spotify and couldn't code fob trunk key as well. I'm considering esys coding at this time. I'm feeling there's something off In BimmerCode or my OBD PORT

My issue " I'm guessing here"
is due to me restoring for a backup on an older iDrive version while I was on a newer one. So I'm planning to update all modules to the latest. Create a restore point and code from there, cause honestly some stuff are essential to me. The remember auto engine off , auto window close while door is open, ///M themes over weight the sport accelerator display. But it also tells me something is off.

\\\M themes are the instrument cluster and iDrive layouts. I moved from BMW to \\\M power ones. Overweights in the sense, more important to me than the accelerator display that we are missing, yet missing it for me means something isn't right.

If you code the M dash, you will lose the shift lights/RPM in the HUD - this has been documented in a few other G-series coding forums. You should still be able to keep it if you code the Alpina dash though... You also lose the drive mode being displayed in the dash and the RPM redline if you code the M dash as well. But there is a way to get the rpm redline back, it just won't be the correct redline for the B58 engine. But it looks better than no rpm redline IMHO...

Yet the Op lost it without coding anything other the video on motion. Mine has done more damage specially to Spotify I was deadlocked and loading of anything took 1-2 minutes I would get the song to play after about a minute or so, then the images would load after 5-10 min and so forth for library, play lists ... So I restored everything back to factory. Will run an iDrive update and then see how to proceed. By the way how can one delete backups from BimmerCode?
