M4 UK Launch event.
What can I say about the car.
Wow, is much better in real life than in the pictures, the front is hugely aggressive and more like E92 than E46. In fact with the exception of the boot spoiler its more E92 than E46 in my view. Austin Yellow is Phoenix Yellow in my view. The blue is dreadful it is LSB which I didn't like either, I can't see why anyone would order that! The black/silver wheels are ALOT nicer in person. Finally the one option I've added to my order since seeing it in person is full leather. Without it the car feels ordinary and in my view lower quality than the E92 and F10 closer to the 1 series., with it it feels lux - worth consdering the seats, where do I start, easily the best seats in an M car, or a BMW car for that matter. no running so verdict still in deliberation, but from a looks, comfort POV its a winner for me. Obligatory selfie LOL

Great pic’s – Thanks Neil!
Quick question.. Do you (or anyone in the UK on here) know if the white/grey contrast stitching displayed on all M4’s with black interiors (both LKSW & X3SW) at the various global motor shows (including this event) + every interior imagine on the BMW.CO.UK and BMW.COM, is standard in the UK with both black leather interiors (LKSW & X3SW) + does not come under the future 2015 “Sakhir Orange, Silverstone, Yellow or Blue Individual” contrasting stitching option? I’m struggling to get confirmation from my dealer or BMW UK. I've ordered standard "Black Extended Merino Leather - Code: LKSW" on my M4 and I'm really hoping the white/grey contrast stitching is standard otherwise I fear the interior will be too dark/black with no relief (especially as I've spec'd the Carbon trim as well). Many thanks, Joe Last edited by M8 JTD; 03-21-2014 at 06:49 AM.. |

joe, you mean this:
I'd be amazed if that wasn't standard Joe - it would cause chaos for BMW if it wasn't.

We really need the answer to this, I've ordered the full merino and that spec is always showing contrast on the cars we've seen so far.
I've just read your post at the top, just concentrated on the pictures before, love the sound of your findings, so excited. Last edited by UK6; 03-21-2014 at 08:50 AM.. |

The confusion has come from the fact that the only reference BMW have made to contrast stitching so far is the 2015 “Individual” option below: The BMW.com website quotes: http://www.bmw.com/com/en/newvehicle...idual.html#t=l “Colourful accents you can see and feel. The contrasting stitching from BMW Individual is the highest expression of elegance, impressively accentuating the full fine-grain Merino leather in Black. There are four colours to choose from: Sakhir Orange, Silverstone, Yellow or Blue. (Expected to be available from 2015.)” This is consistent with the German M4 brochure – re “Individual” contrast stitching – Page 24 “Für das BMW M4 Coupé voraussichtlich verfügbar ab 2015” or translated “For the BMW M4 Coupe expected to be available from 2015”. Yet every M3/M4 that BMW has displayed to the public (including this event/picture and all BMW website images) show white/grey contrast stitching on both black interior options (i.e. LKSW “Extended” & X3SW “Full”). OP, so YMB looks just like LSB? Is it lighter in person or no? Because I rather like LSB actually.

At first I was excited about the color stitching, but then I realized it will look pretty weird when not all stitches are in the same color... |

This. What the hell is OP talking about?!? If the sedan was sporting the sunroof, then I would say the view from the front would look weird compared to the coupe with the carbon roof.

after you posted this I had another look and you are correct, must have been the different colours. the coupe in the yellow looks better than the saloon in the blue.
