WIth the discount and "free" CPO, it sounds like a decent deal. Just cover yourself by checking KBB, etc. for what the current value really is, with your options and mileage. You might be able to negotiate some more discount, if the numbers are badly off.
HPFP pump warranty to ALL owners is 10 years 120K miles. You could, if you wanted, also get an extended maintenance contract, but most people feel it's better just to pay for it as you go, and use an independant BMW shop. But, if you could get the dealer to throw in or heavily discount the extended maintenance as part of your deal... |

I just bought an 2007 CPO E92 335i from a private party w/ 26,000 miles for 28k. I thought it was a good deal.
Your sounds even better, and it's been your car all along! |

Shop around some other dealers to make sure you're getting the best deal. Back when I bought my '07 335i off lease, I negotiated with 3 different dealers before getting the best deal. The deal I accepted was $2K better than the first offer I got.
I believe it costs about $2500 to CPO a car, not including the costs of new tires, which can be substantial if the car requires them. They must be runflats as well. If you want CPO, they have to do it by the book. That being said, the deal seems to be between $4-5K off the residual, which isn't too bad. Gotta say though, BMW ain't as desperate today as they were a year ago when I bought mine. I got it for about $9K off the residual |

My lease will expire in October, and I am under mileage in my lease right now... probably will have 25-26k miles on a 36k mile lease. I love the car and since I know the history of it, I would love to buy it back, but not at the current buyback price. Other better equipped models with similar mileage and CPO are going for less than my current buyback. If BMW were to offer me a deal similar to yours, (CPO the car and give me $2k off of my buyback), I will definitely buy mine back. If not, I will probably walk away from it even though it hurts to leave such a pristine condition car to the dealer to sell as CPO to someone else.

Is this a cash deal (the buyout)? Otherwise I don't think it makes sense to say 22+27=49.
I dunno, I just looked and I paid $2150 to finance my car for 36 mos. My sale price was 44,700, so I guess I paid 46,920 for mine. Its list was 46,470, not that loaded. I always thought end of lease was an opportunity to get rid of lease payments and buy something affordable, if it's not a cash deal. Who wants to pay interest on something 6 years old or older..... p.s. kbb said my car is 25.5k and that's with only 17.5k miles. Doesn't matter what the residual is, it's what the wholesale market will bear imho. |

I also recall that the part is not "a few hundred bucks". Last I checked, the installed price was closer to $1800. |

here's the thing. i assume you leased the car right? when you lease a car, BMW likes to make you think your paying entirely toward the principle of the car, but you're not. at the end of the day, you pay a percentage of interest with every car payment, so that 29k should really be about 24-25. i would shop around a bit, i think you can find one for that price anywhere, but then again, with keeping your car now you know who drove it before you

Once again, add the numbers up, that will tell you everything.
For me, if I buy out my car and pay the residual rate (not bloody likely!), then I'll end up having paid $49k total for my car, or about $2k over original list. But $5k over my negotiated price. Not a great deal. For it to be an OK deal, I'd have to talk BMWFS down by $2k. This is assuming I'd pay cash to buy out my car (this is actually what I'd do).

I heard from my friend who has a 335i coming off lease this month. He got a quote from a dealer who said they aren't blowing them out like they used to a year or so ago when the car business hit rock bottom. Still, $4-5K off the residual is a great deal, because that's a big chunk of depreciation that BMW's picking up the tab for and not you.

A HELOC is another great way of illustrating the notion of principal, as the minimum payment is interest only for 10 years. Lastly, kbb says my car is 25.5k, so I highly doubt that at 27k BMWFS is "eating" any depreciation, c'mon, they're in the business to make money every which way, on the sale, on the service, on the financing. |

Don't even worry about interest rates, money factors, residuals. The bottom line is that final total. Compare that number for every option you're looking at.
