Finally unwrapped and installed the rear seat pillows and I must say that I'm very underwhelmed.

My previous 750 had the pillows too. Those were much softer and actually matched the interior color.

These feel cheap as hell and the fabric is rough to the touch. I get that this is totally a First World problem, but it's crazy that the shade of the Pillow would be so far off from my Tartufo interior.

That’s disappointing. The color match on my 21 M50i were spot on and felt quite nice (also tartufo)

Something changed because my Tartufo “cuddle pillows” are soft and match perfectly. Could just be a bad dye lot or fabric supplier changed. Contact your service dept and ask them to order you another set.

Looks like it belongs in a 1971 Ford LTD.

Googling some images online, depending upon the lighting and if the flash was on or not, looks similar to what others have unfortunately. Worth an attempt to take it back to the dealer though or due it to match but not sure if that would Morning worship it better or worse to be honest. With the part shortages, you mess up the dye job, who knows when you'll get replacements.

It has to be a supply issue. I wouldn’t be surprised if BMW stops including them with the recent cutbacks all together.

You may be able to find one of the older (2020) produced Tartufo pillows. Our earlier thread shows a pic of my pillows. Show the pic to your service department that you didn’t get these pillows that match and they should wind you a set gratis.

BMW makes two different designs of these “ cuddle pillows “. I bought a ivory set for my last G05 X5 that snaps over the head rest and it would work for our X7 3rd row head rest. If you wanted to take your 3rd row over the top opulent.

Everybody gets cuddle pillows.

It looks to me like you got the wrong color pillows.

They're made out of alcantara (suede) leather, hence the rough finish, like the interior headliner.

My black cuddle pillows look and feel great on my 2021 M50i with Captain's chairs

As I mentioned, I had them in my 750. These pale in comparison in terms of material, workmanship, and especially color matching.

As Mystro pointed out, none of the Tartufo interiors he posted have matching pillows. Kind of a shame if you ask me.

I'll probably end up having my seamstress make me matching leather ones using these as a pattern. I had her do a run of meditation pillows last year that turned out really nice.

My confidence in BMW doing anything to rectify this situation is woefully low at this point.

This my best natural light pic of my cuddle pillows. You do get a lighter look from a angle because it is suede but strait on it matches as good as fuzzy suede and finished leather I think can get. You have two different surface textures that will play with the shades of color. Oddly enough in the artificial light of the vehicle at night, both look spot on in color.

Al Pina, unless it’s your camera, your pillows look too red/burgundy in color and not “orange/brown” enough??? I think the dye lot was wrong with yours or even the alcantara supplier was changed if yours isn’t soft/supple.

I'm using a newer iPhone so I doubt it's the camera. In both natural and artificial light they look awful. I'll mention again that I'm comparing them to a 750 pillow that I very recently got rid of so I'm familiar with its look and feel. You would think they were from two separate brands of cars. Like something cheap and derivative that Kia would do.

It's not a huge deal to me in the scheme of things. I'll just put them back in the bag for now.

Thank you to all that commented. Much appreciated.

HA! Same. I wouldn't call mine plush, but they don't feel rough and are pretty comfortable.

No such thing as “didn’t get it”. Only “don’t have them yet”.
You paid for it, every X7 (with the package) has it. Better go talk to your dealer right away and make sure they’re ordering them for you because it’s part of the vehicle. I would be pretty pissed otherwise.

Check under the rear cover where the spare is (or would be)… they usually hide them there.
