Any real-world 0-60 times?
What have you been getting out of your 40i, M50i, XB7? Serious answers only please. Anyone going with JB4 for their N63? I feel I could push my M50i close to the Alpina numbers…
I’m looking to keep on par with all those Audi RS V8s (typically in the 3.5s range) and some of the American V8s (also in 3.5s range). Or even the new Cayenne Turbo GT (3.5). The Cayennes are generally slow for the horsepower they have (ie base N63 X7 keeps up with Cayenne GTS and is close to Cayenne Turbo).

Look - this is a good ol' sh**-talking other cars thread - let's not be humble for once: I think the Xb7 will put down a 3.7-3.8 or better, given BMW understates power and numbers. I also think it would have much better pull at 60mph+ compared to most Cayenne's, RS Audi SUVs and some AMGs. Actually AMG disqualified itself since they're not selling V8s anymore outside of the G-Wagon and that thing is definitely slower than even an X7 M50i.

My 2019 X7 40i will consistently hit 60 in 5.2 seconds which is far better than the BMW numbers state. This is also at 2700ft in the VA mountains so no telling how well it would do at sea level. At any rate i think that is more than acceptable for a heavy SUV with a 6 cylinder engine.

I have done a Draggy 4.1 with a almost full tank of gas last summer. I am positive I can do a 4 flat or better with less than a 1/4 tank and in cooler weather. I am at 500ft sea level. I got really good at launches with my last G05 X5 50i M-Sport. The fastest launches were not with launch control but loading the brake pedal. My wife could get 4.5 all day long in my X5 50i just by mashing the pedal. Very consistent and that’s what surprising is how effortless these will constantly have a killer launch every time with no effort.

I took MystroX5's advice and did another run last summer outside of Denver with a light tank. Best that Draggy captured was 4.3. Nonetheless, pretty impressive for a 5,500+lb vehicle!

That is outstanding at that high of a elevation. I think sea level could pull a occasional sub 4. We are splitting hairs with a lot of this but the most impressive takeaway is how consistent these are at really fast launches with no effort.

Alpina uses larger turbos and forged pistons if I'm not mistaken so you won't be able to get that output from an M50i with just a tune.
